GVG RIP :(

Migrated topic.
Mine broke last week.

I ordered a replacement bottom piece, but I still haven't fully accepted the fact yet.

I remember your post... Bad month for GVGs. I had to order a new one entirely, as every single bit that could possibly break on it managed to break...

Sorry to hear that. A moment of silence for our fallen GVG's...

...

...

...

... amen.

I think the cold air is killing all of these fine glass pieces.

Quick, we need to orchestrate a movement against the cold. Global Colding is killing our GVG's.

i wish I could blame some exterior element. I got home late, vaped 18mg and put the pipe down on the bedside table. Then I decided to vape 20mg, putting the pipe back in its spot, safely between two books on the bedside table. The second trip started to get scary, but I don't remember it tapering off or ending, I just remember the fear, and then sleep. I must have turned and my arm flailed past the little table and knocked the GVG off. It toppled downward, bounced off my laptop on the floor (first crack and crash sound) then hit the hardwood floor (second crack and crash sound...)

Strangely, the books the GVG was nestled between had not budged - I had somehow managed to knock a well surrounded and protected glass object crashing to the floor without so much as disturbing a fleck of dust on the bedside table. (btw, the books in the pic are the books in question, but were arranged differently - I had to move them to check for glass shards)

That's talent :(

God I hate to see this. The grieving period lasts a while, but when you get your new one you can really begin the healing process. Were here for you brother, stay strong.

Sorry for your loss. Seeing tragedies like this strengthens my resolve to buy a second gvg, just in case. I already have a couple backup arc knockoffs.

If you need to talk, we are all here for you :)

I hope you get your new one fast. I dont hava a gvg myself, i see they are mentiond all over the place here on the dmt nexus...So they are the prefered tool i guess. I use a glass pipe With a "bulb" and it sometimes tastes nasty and the smoke gets really hot. Are these two problems gone With the gvg? If so i better get one.

Pretty much. It is very difficult to get the technique just right every time to properly vaporize spice without burning any (which is most likely causing the taste and hotness) in a bulb-style conduction pipe. The GVG is very easy to use without much risk of burning, due to the fact that it heats the DMT by means of convection rather than conduction.

RIP
I will miss you. Think of me from the garbage heap in the sky.

How old was it ? How many travel about did he do ?

Almost 5 years old. Quite a bit of use, but less than a lot here would have in 5 years. A lot of shared experiences with friends and groups...

My new one is on the way. PRICEY. That was an expensive night...

I broke the glass on my Eclipse vape, and I got 100 replacements for a song. :p

...Oh, too soon?
I have one of those! It has not been used once for DMT since I got the GVG though. :p

Although it does work well for substances with higher BP's.

A citation comes to mind:

Ya gets what ya pays for. ;)

(just kidding. I loved my GVG. Must be the grief talking!)

Trying to figure out the best vaporizer to buy since the volcano is [too expensive]..
How does the regular vapor geni compare to the GVG?

As 3rdI stated, you want to see the vapour. It is a real handicap, in my opinion, to use a device that hides your view of the vapour, and an even greater handicap to use a glass pipe that does not vaporize but rather works by conduction, invariably burning spice, making it difficult to gauge how much unburnt spice smoke you are actually inhaling, rendering dosing accuracy hit and miss at best. There is a reason people with Meth pipes hover in the 40-60mg range while GVG users often target 15-30mgs.

In other words, unfortunately (they are expensive!), the GVG is really beyond compare. Just don't drop it. :(
