I havent tried this yet, however I cant see how it wouldn't work.
The idea is to use a glass on glass 18mm carbon filter, desinged for filtering smoke from bongs, and use it as a chamber for a vapobong. The GVG topper is 18mm so we would have to have a carbon filter with a 18mm female joint, the male joint just needs to fit your bong.
I've been looking for different carbon filters that mimick the chamber of the GVG. I've found the G Spot Carbon Filter to be the closest. Let me know if you know of a better one. I think the Roor has too big of a bulb for it to work well.
I love my GVG, however it really drys my lungs out and I'd like a bit of moisture when I hit it. I've also been reading about using very hot water in vaporbongs. Every one, in the threads I've been reading, say that it makes the vapor silky smooth. Most people say that it hits them quicker. Granted this is with MJ not DMT. Their reasoning is that the steam from the hot water opens your lungs more, so the goodies get taken up quicker. One guy was talking about getting a hot plate to put his vapobong on, so he didn't have to get up during a session for more hot water.
Most carbon filters don't come with a handle. This is the only draw back that I see. I plan to take some paracord and fashion a turk's head knot around the upper glass joint of the carbon filter. This will allow me to pull the filter and the GVG topper off to clear the vapobong.
What do you think?
