Harmalas in tobacco

I was just reading about tobacco on wikipedia. I was surprised when harmine was listed under its actives. I read further, the article said tobacco contains harmala alks. This surprised me. A Nexus search did not shed a whole lot of light on the matter. Can anyone tell me any more about this? Please and thank you.

I've begun ritualistic use of tobacco with cigars and loose leaf for pipe smoking. I find chewing a piece of cigar, while bitter and a bit nauseating at first, can give some nice head space for exploring sacred texts and symbolic writings.
