Harmine Harmaline again

Hi all,

It is not clear to me if washing with destiled water I am dissolving harmaine or harmaline?

Lets say I have precipitations with ph 12, whatever alkaloids there may be.

wash 1st ph will drop to 10
wash 2nd ph will drop to 9
wash 3rd ph will drop to 8
wash 4 ph will drop to 7

at ph 7 did I loose some of needed harmalas?

By reading other posts I somehow concluded that I should not wash with destilled water, but just go A/B until infinidum... which I just did, But I didn't end up with nearly as clean product as I have if I do washes up to ph 7.

Yes with every wash you most likely lose a bit of harmaline because it is slightly more polar.

I thought so, so in my tek I will have it optional.

the idea is to limit filtering and cooking, its a cold tek, but I still need some more pics so until next extracton time.

Also, distilled water is acidic in nature, further increasing loss of actives (and also lowers your ph as you saw)

Yeah you lose harmaline. I extracted about 130 grams of alkaloids from 2 kg rue. With the washing this was reduced to 80. When selectively precipitating harmaline, it appeared that ~3 grams was harmaline, and 77 grams harmine.
I flushed all my harmaline through the drain. That's why I'm extracting another kg of rue at the moment to recover more harmaline in order to convert it to THH.
