Has anyone swallowed capsulized Syrian Rue and later capsulized spice?

Migrated topic.

I want to try an oral experience rather than smoked, and I'm curious to know if this is safe to do, and if so what kind of dosage should I be looking at? I've read that 3 grams of ground and capsulized Syrian Rue is enough to keep the spice in your system for 4-8 hours, and I imagine it's similar to drinking ayahuasca. Any experiences or advice on this?

I suggest doing at least a crude manske extraction on a known amount of rue and dividing in equivalent amount of doses, rue has some other alkaloids that are generally considered unwanted, and also it can be quite hard on the stomach for some people. Or check the harmala extraction guide and do a complete extraction.

Also if you do take anything in capsules, be sure to cut one end of the capsule open or at least poke a hole, otherwise the absorption will be pretty poor.

4-8 hours is too long, I think its rather more commonly 2-5 hours depending on your personal metabolism and dosage.

As for oral spice dosage I suggest first trying around 30mg, and taking more in subsequent trips. For some people 30mg feels like nothing and they need 150+mg, but for others 30mg is already quite very strong, so first find out how it goes for you before raising the dosage.

Or you could boil the ungrinded rue in acidic water for 30mins and then drink the tea.

this has always worked very well for me and i generally get less nausea than drinking caapi brew this way.

Although i would use 4-5grams just to be sure if you do it this way since some alkaloids will be left in the seeds if you do not crush them, but i think it´s worth it since you leave more toxins too.

I have tried to ingest rue or grind the seeds before making tea and both ways lead to a very unpleasant experience.

..hi, many such experiments were done in the 90s (Gracie & Zarkov; lots of firsthand accounts).

an important question when you say "spice", is whether you know if it's just dimethyltryptamine, or a plant extract with multiple alkaloids. some of the latter (e.g some acacias) can cause complications (for better or worse) in conjunction with p. harmala, so proceed cautiously if this is the case.
also, when u say capsule rue do i assume u mean ground seeds not harmala extracts.

remember also that diet prior to ingestion is a crucial aspect of MAO inhibition saftey/enjoyment...

I would personally not ingest rue in capsules. Brew the rue into a well reduced and filtered tea..and decant it. A well made rue tea should be totally clear with no cloudy sediments. That is how you get the cleanest body feeling with rue as a brew. If you want something more pure that you can capsule then I would do a manske on the seeds. I dont like capsuled things personally so I just put the alkaloids in a bit of water or juice..or take them sublingual.

Hmmm. I found this thread because I'm curious how much data there is on the oral ingestion of mimosa spice in particular. But I'd also love to hear if there is any data at all on the alkaloid activity of, say, chacruna, and if it is also amenable to the oral route via the use of rue.

I'm unclear on the different effects of Harmine and Harmaline. Isn't Harmine known exclusively for MAOI activity, while Harmaline is regard as a psychedelic MAOI ?

Also, is the consensus that the extract resulting from the mensk extraction is hard on the stomach for most users - even when encapsulated?

Thank you all in advance,
