hash from d-limonene?

Migrated topic.

Do you thank that it is possible to use d-limonene to extract hash oil from bud? I thank it would work, but just wanted to ask to get some feedback before i started.

butane or isopropyl may be better suited solvents with a history of use in MJ extraction. warning, never personally tried either before but have heard good things from experienced friends about butane through PVC packed with material . an end cap with small holes is placed on one end of the PVC pipe and liquid butane is expelled into the non-capped end, allowing the butane-thc to drip into a container. butane, being highly volatile will evap quite quickly.

edit: heres a much better description of the butane tek, most definitely with extra material that is missing above: http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/cannabis_info13.shtml
friends swear by their honey oil

d-limonene may work but it would take a longer time to evap and may still taste of oranges. cant hurt, try it and report back :)

butane is the way to go google "honey bee extractor"
get colibri butane....

you will thank me ;)

Yea i have done the butane and iso hash, i was wondering because i would be non toxic and might make it taste better (Exctracting some shitty mexican weed that tast horrible).

I got my limonene today and will be putting some buds in later today to soak for a few days along with a couple extracts i was waiting to do with my limonene. wish me luck

cannabinoids should be soluble in limonene.
thank you burnt, somone finally ansewrd my question. I will be starting it today as i was too busy extracting catus yesterday:)

I filterd and evaperated my extract last night, i belive it will be dry enuf to try tonight so i will post bioessay results later. I seems like it pulled a good amount of hash from the buds i just hope it is potent!!

It worked out very well!! The oil did not tast like limonene at all and it was pretty strong. The only bad thang was i decided to use some shake from the end of a very larg bag that was full of seeds. I did not take the time to take out the seeds, and the oil picked up the flavor of the seeds too. I thank if i left out the seeds it would have tasted alot better. I thank i will donate this oil to someone less fortunate to me who wont mind the tast and try again but without seeds in it. All and all i would call this experement a succses.

Did it look more or less similar to other hash oils? How did it smoke? If you have experience with iso- and butane hash, can you make a guess as to how selective limonene is? Meaning, did it pull mostly cannabinoids or were there lots of plant waxes, etc.

It looks very simalar to regular hash oil, but it carries a little of the good taste with it. As far as the plant oils or waxes i did not seem to notice any but i only extracted a small amount as i did not have that much lemonene to play with as i used most of it for cactus extracts.

It will work fine and some say may even add to the the effects of THC.

Limonene may have a low-affinity interaction with cannabinoid receptors ...
"Pate (1994), McPartland (1997), and McPartland, Clarke and Watson(2000), have reviewed the pesticidal properties of cannabis attributable to itsterpenoid content. The essential oil of Eugenia dysenterica was recently dem-onstrated to have significant inhibitory effects on Cryptococcus neoformansstrains isolated from HIV patients with cryptococcal meningitis (Costa et al.2000). Key components of that oil were common to cannabis: β-caryo-phyllene, α-humulene, α-terpineol, and limonene."

Try eating a couple of juicy MANGOS before your next medical cannabis dose:wink:
Vaporizer technology may improve the bioavailability of limonene and other compounds, which volatilize around the same temperature as THC

Terpenoidsand flavonoids may also increase cerebral blood flow, enhance corticalactivity, kill respiratory pathogens, and provide anti-inflammatory activity.

Mangoes do work for me. I'll slice one up an hour before i smoke. Smoke a bowl of schwag and it feels like I had just smoked a bowl of some potent skunk.

Eating a mango about 2 hours in and it feels like it brings the effects right back. VERY NOTICEABLE

Mycrene FTW :)

 Hhhhhmmmm.... Why did I not know about the whole mango thing..... I'm setting off right now to buy some... :d

I can't believe I never knew this.... "hangs head in shame"... are there any other fruits/foods that have similar synergy with weed that I didn't know about????

thnx, guys...

Can anyone estimate whether limonene (myrcene) residue in limo-hash would even be active in any appreciable way when smoked? Also curious about what residues are left by limonene compared to acetone, IPA, butane, etc.
