hasi approach to hcl salt

Migrated topic.

the objective here is to eliminate the traditional bassification and NPS pulling that can lead to incriminating precursors being required to avoid being observed for nefarious chemistry

by using both dried and undried ipa, vinegar, hcl, acetone, and possibly mek, there is a chance for extremely clean product with a very safe and basic process.

a tar is to be evapporated from ipa and pedro chips after 2 acetic ipa washes.

once the tar is dehydrated (dessication chamber for a night) in a glass jar, add an hcl solution, this will convert any weaker salts into hcl (thats what this depends on atleast)
once an appropriate amount of hcl solution is used to redissolve the tar, evaporate this new hcl tar

once dehydrated (dessication chamber for another night) again, wash the tar with anhydrous acetone, dissolving excess hydrochloric acid and oils inluding chlorophyll, separate the solution and bottle/discard, its not the droid we are looking for

wash until clear acetone runs through, depending on its consistancy it may need MEK washed aswell to achiever a more crystaline product.

and once a dry product is found it can be broken down into pure and alkaloids (woo boosters) by anhydrous ipa wash/evap just as others can be

a hydralization is necessary to clean the acetone washed product of the particulate/cellulose cactus material, so, add water, dissolve hcl, sep trash, re x

I take it this is an entirely theoretical approach?

In my experience there is no way around using a non polar to obtain a clean hcl salt... there is very little that will wash clean a tar or resin, its very robust stuff.

This part in particular... looks good on paper, but I doubt very much that acetone will work to break down your hcl tar. Ive disolved resin with a concentrated hcl water, and then tried this very step. But it didnt work. Once dried, the dissolved hcl tar/resin just goes straight back to its impenetrable state, and acetone doesnt break it down.

Phlux also tried very hard to get these results some time ago (check the cacti threads), and it didnt work out... He got a more refined resin, but certainly not clean salts

if i am understanding this correctly, the theory goes that the tar is too dang "robust" to be washed with acetone/mek/ipa into clean hcl. if the tar were turned into a powder before the cleaning was initiated this would potentially solve the issue at hand of it just being too "robust"

imaginable ways to powder tar:
-freeze hard/ shatter (freeze spray/dry ice)
-dessicate/dehydrate further

maybe making the tar warm would allow for better washing, especially if it were in a very viscous state ( it may dissolve happily then)

i have a feeling that this will be a nice surprise when thoroughly worked

if this approach becomes obviously unfeasible it can always be corrected by innovatingly bassifying the tar and pulling with a nps, however that would undermine the concept of less is more, it would simply be more is more then

methanol grips resin hard - breaks it up nicely - few other things work quite as well.
i think it was methanol - check my purifying resin thread

this method does not work from this cats perspective, dont waste your time unless you have better/more solvents available than just ipa, acetone, and mek
