Hello! First I would like to say this is a beautiful community and I am so glad to be a part of the Nexus. I always wondered if there was a community out there like this. I first learned about DMT in 2006 and was very intrigued. It was presented to me by a man named Terence McKenna, amazing speaker/visionary one of the most interesting visionary speakers of the 20th century in my opinion. Ever since I heard him rave about his DMT experiences I have been drawn to experiencing DMT and unfortunately where I live it's not accessible. In any case I continued to research this entheogen. I read The Spirit Molecule by Rick Strassman, Food of the Gods by TM, and other books containing information about the tryptamine. So years passed, and still no luck on finding DMT, however in my research I learned that DMT can be extracted from several different plants. I also found several vendors selling entheogenic botanicals. In February of 2010 I decided I wanted to embark on ayahuasca. I purchased 100 grams of Mimosa Hostilis root bark and 100 grams of Psychotria viridis, and from another vendor 4oz of white shredded caapi vine, so I attempted to make a brew; it turned out to have very weak effects. Unfortunately before I found out the mimosa was weak I, I bought a kilo of root bark from the same vendor, so I figured I had a kilo of bunk bark. Just to verify my suspicion of the mimosa being weak, I went on the vendors site and found It was they were out of stock, so that meant what I had bought was the bottom of the barrel. I took it as a loss and it sat in my dresser for a month. Then I came across the A/B extraction process and thought, nice! I can at least extract DMT from the bark, it has to have something in it. But I didn’t have the equipment necessary and it seemed lengthy, so I didn't proceed with the extraction. Then in March I found the Nexus and signed up, and to my surprise I found a few teks easier and faster than the a/b; this was amazing! So I went with the STB tek and yielded enough spice to have my first experience. Thank-you so much Nexus and all the people that were involved in making these simpler teks so people like me can experience making my own spice instead of spending ridiculous money on it. I know I am going to learn so much more and I can’t wait to become a part of this community.
