Hello to everyone- while I might be new to you all, you aren't so new to me. I've been searching and reading stuff from the Nexus for a while now just to truly get a feel from people's experiences, opinions, advice and so fourth as to what is encompassed by DMT.
Seeing as this is an introduction and my first post, I'll give you a bit of background as to how I ended up here...and try making it extremely brief at the same time: I'm 23 years old and study engineering.
Basically I've come to a point in my life where the desire for exploration of the self has become a priority. I don't know everything, I never will- but I know I'd like to try and gain different viewpoints generated by having meaningful experiences. Hence why I've recently signed up to undertake a 10 day Vipassana meditation course during my uni holidays. I want to be more introspective, have experiences which define the path forward in my life and I want to challenge my concept of reality. Life is too short to turn into one of those narrow minded people who boast about how much they know, look down on others and never give themselves a chance to really challenge their perceptions and perspective.
Hence welcome to the world of psychedelics. I have no experience with them (however I'm very familiar with marijuana which I still use to this day), but understand their value in unlocking layers of the self as well as their role in ego death and introspection given proper time for integration. Neither LSD nor Mushrooms are directly available to me, otherwise I would have taken the time to try them. However, DMT has always interested me hence how I ended up here.
I plan on taking it very slowly and familiarising myself with each "level" so to speak. I've bought one of those cheap milligram scales you all seem to have. I'll start at 5mg and work my way up with no real haste about how fast I get wherever it is I feel I need to go. I'm in no hurry for a breakthrough- I just want to explore and hopefully gain something from it which resonates with me.
I hope this intro hasn't been too verbose, I can tend to see the word essay and really take off... quite unusual for an engineering student who is used to dealing with numbers and, let's be honest, 'plug and play' formula's on a daily basis.
Also, I have a few questions that I wouldn't mind people helping me out with. I notice there's a lot of information on here about teks, which tek to use and troubleshooting ..etc.. however I'm at a stage before a tek is even feasible: I've just started trying to grow some Acacia Acuminata's from seed. My questions are:
- I've read some information about the Acuminata plants needing to be mature in order for DMT to be present in the leaves- for an Acuminata grown from seed, what is the timeframe on this?
- I live with my parents, and I can't exactly plant an Acuminata that will become a massive tree in the backyard. How do people account for this problem? Is growing it in a large pot so that it will become big (1-2m tall) but not proper size adequate enough?
- If I'm going about this the wrong way, how do you guys suggest I go about sustainably getting my own plants going such that I'll be able to have my own supply? What is considered to be the most efficient and friendly route?
Thanks in advance to any who take the time to answer and help out- and thanks to everyone for contributing to bring such an amazing resource such as this website, directly to my laptop screen!
