That's fairly accurate. DMT "delivers the goods" more presently and effectively than LSD, but the speed, intensity and profound strangeness of the experience can be challenging. DMT tends to be more unpredictable as well, and always leaves more questions than answers. This can be great when looking for the right question, but requires much work to find an answer. A moderate smoked dose usually lasts around ten minutes, but can vary from 5 minutes to an hour in uncommon cases. Orally with an MAOI, it usually lasts 2-6 hours. Keep in mind that this is time as measured by a clock: Time dilation is a huge part of the experience, and it can feel like minutes, days or lifetimes.

LSD tends to be more mercurial and harder to put a finger on, but it's a bit easier to get a handle on what is going on once one has hit the peak. It enhances the mind, rather than leaving it dumbfounded at what it is experiencing. DMT can be smoked at the peak of the LSD experience to great effect, though it can be a very very intense or altering experience.

All this being said, It's not as if these drugs actually relay messages... What they do is allow you to experience consciousness and reality in new ways and with new input. The "message" is in how these far-out experiences fit into reality as we perceive it, and what they bring to the table. It is always a good bit of work to integrate these experiences, and takes a fair bit of smarts, a bit of faith, a level head and a commitment to truth.

And, as always, the experience of the thing itself goes far beyond what can be described or imagined. Preconceptions are misconception.

Happy Trails,
