Hello, from the Prairies of the Great Plains

Migrated topic.

Zircon

Rising Star
Actually came across this site inadvertently. I am into Ambient types of music. Great for doing work on the computer, art work using pastels and pencil or just wanting to close your eyes and do some serious thinking. Psybient and Psychill are my two favorite forms.

Anyway, I am retired. Growing up in Oklahoma and receiving my education using the GI Bill (Vietnam veteran), I eventually moved to Seattle and to Bellevue in particular. I've a applications software developer, database administrator and systems analyst over my career.

My wife and I have been married since the Permian and we have three children and three grandchildren. Our son, our first born, was a US Navy SEAL in the late 1990s and into 2000s. He is now a CPA. Our eldest daughter is an assistant editor for a glossy magazine and our youngest is still trying to find that career she can settle into.

My hobbies include graphical art, studying astrophysics, pondering over speculative history and science and college football (Oklahoma Sooners primarily). My wife is an RN and reads voraciously. Great cook as well (mostly ethnic foods, spices etc.).

Hello Zircon,

Welcome to the Nexus, :D. Thank you so much for that fascinating Introductory Essay. It was over all too soon.

I am so very pleased at all the new diverse members we've had coming in here recently, especially in terms of age. My husband, Nemo Amicus (username here at Nexus) is probably right around your age. He went to Canada and homesteaded after burning his draft card so his journey was a bit different from your own.

Amibient music, eh? I really enjoy that too. It's funny, my ears were limited and kinda closed before coming to the Nexus. This place and the folks here have really put a crowbar in there and a whole new world of wonderful and very psychedelic sound has opened up to me. My husband enjoys the downtempo sounds too.

This gave me a good . Nemo and I will celebrate 25 years together. Sometimes it feels like forever and a few years but mostly it feels as new as it's always done, we hope to get at least 25 more together and would happily take 1,000.

So, you came across this site inadvertently? I have to ask - what were you searching for? I have to wonder, what brings you to the Nexus?

I presume you have at least some psychedelic experience as most folks of your generation do. Would you mind discussing it a bit here? I'd love to hear about it.

Do you have any interest in trying DMT? Does your wife?

It does not really matter. There is so much to see, read and do here. Even if you don't consume DMT you may be interested in the art or plant research or trip reports or even the chat room. This place is unique, rather intellectual, fun and more addictive than any psychedelic drug out there.

I hope to see you around some more. Again, a very warm welcome to you.

Hi zircon,

Gotta ask, have you used psychedelics? 😁

The great plains eh? If dmt is of interest to you, I'll gladly point you in the direction of some interesting plants in your area.

What brings you to the nexus? Music? Dmt? Extraction? Research?

Welcome to the Nexus!

Welcome Zircon. :) It would be great to have your perspective here at the Nexus.
Oliver Stone said he did a lot of LSD in vietnam to rise above the horror. Sounds like you're well risen!
Hope you enjoy your wanderings here.
