Rising Star
My name's Tyler, I'm an 18-year old university student from Kentucky and I'm interested in exploring my mind and truly seeing the beauty of the universe.

I consider myself more science-orientated than most people, and would like to think of DMT and other psychedelics in a scientific way. I know better, however, than to attempt to do this during a trip, and am open to changing my mind due to whatever makes the most sense; I see science as the process of learning about and the study of the universe.

My current experiences with drugs amount to having smoked marijuana twice before, and having smoked hookah twice before as well if that counts.

I am somewhat depressed and I believe psychedelics could likely be very helpful in allowing me to let go of things like caring too much about things that no longer affect me, and prevent me from obsessing over things that are truly unimportant, and that ego death may help prevent my feelings of loneliness as well. (Nor do I expect a miracle drug that will solve all my problems for me -- too many things get lost in semantics and point of view)

I work best when being asked questions and allowed to flourish with my answers, so ask away!

Hi Tyler, Welcome aboard!

I hope your able to find what ur looking for. Have you considered Mushrooms first. DMT is pretty advanced to start with IMO. Mushrooms outdoors is a very uplifting experience. Especially at night in the woods...

Whatever you decide to do, safe journeys! Looking forward to you first trip report.

Hi Tyler, welcome!

I agree with Smoov, Have a read around about mushrooms. It sounds like everything you are wishing to experience or achieve could be done so through a beautiful mushroom experience.

They could help you with coming to terms with things, accepting things, you will also experience ego death on a decent dose of mushrooms and I also think it would be a lot lighter than jumping straight into DMT, but still very intense :) Keep us updated with whatever you decide and ask around if your not sure about anything.

Safe travels friend

Sup Tyler,
Nice to have another young gun on board.

I think psychedelics can help you work past many of your issues. A great way to dip your toes into the psychedelic pool
is with B. Caapi. It alone has allowed me to work through my obsessive and obtrusive worry, depression, and feelings
of loneliness. It is traditionally mixed with a DMT containing plant such as Psychotria Viridis, Chaliponga, or Mimosa Hostilis...
but it's very nice as is. It might be a way to ease into the hallucinogenic experience.

Good to have you here brotha. 8)

Thanks for the welcome!

I have been considering psilocybin mushrooms before DMT to ease into psychedelics, and have been wondering if I'd be able to handle DMT with no prior experience. I've also heard LSD is softer than DMT, but from what I've heard, the experience lasts so long I doubt I'd be able to fit it into my schedule, but it may take me a while to even get my hands on any ingredients, soooo. :p A friend of mine says he's tripped before with a few substances, so the next time I talk to him I'm going to see if we could hopefully trip together.

I've seen DMT: The Spirit Molecule as well as Stepping Into The Fire, both of which were very interesting. Do any of you guys know of any recommendable mushroom or LSD documentaries?

I've also lately taken a liking to psytrance music and the like, such as this and think it would be very nice to listen to while tripping, and at night as well.

The small number of studies done on psychedelics such as DMT also interest me, and I'd like to see more of them to know the exact processes the brain goes through while tripping, and whether what they say about the pineal gland and before- death experiences is true.

Mushrooms and lsd are a lot softer, but in higher doses on mushrooms I have had just as an intense experiences. Usually DMT is not someones first experience with psychedelics but it is not unheard of. Having said that you can ease into and see if psychedelics are for you right now much easier with mushrooms or lsd. For me LSD is a lot more of a fun psychedelic and mushrooms are a lot more special to me, I feel you may be able to achieve what you are looking for from your original post more likely with them. Depending on where you live and what season it is, they are also accessible from your local park :) So you may have to wait a season or two or not at all.

Welcome aboard Tyler. I think it is healthy to adopt an agnostic and pragmatic approach to such activities. Many of us here adopt the same outlook, myself included.

Peace
