The only problem with posting the tweaks is that he doesn't remember what they are. He usually got good yields in Organic Lab, but sucked at writing lab reports. I'll make sure to nag him to do a writeup the next time he does an extraction.

One thing that he will advise people NOT to do, because it was an epic purification fail, is this: Do not put naphtha on top of NaOH water and then pour the MHRB powder through the naphtha into the water! It does not increase yield of alkaloids at all. What it increases is yield of plant oils and waxes. And those are hard to remove when the only solvent you have is naphtha. A FASA tek would likely do well to remove the non-alkaloid content, but my friend doesn't have acetone.
