Hello Nexus, my name is Argyle

Migrated topic.

Argyle

Rising Star
Hello, my name is Argyle. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a non-traditional college student (meaning I'm an adult student) but I am still in my 20's. My interests are in science and mathematics and I plan on specializing in chemical engineering (or something similar). I am not religious, but I am interested in spirituality. I was raised in a christian home and went to church until I was 15 years old, when I told my parents I was agnostic. Lately I have been researching Buddhism and meditation.

I have a fairly lengthy history with entheogens. I have been a chronic cannabis user for the past 11 years (I actually quit smoking a few days ago), I have dosed mushrooms and LSD many times, mescaline a few times, and have tried most of the other available tryptamines and PEA's. I'm also an avid "special" mushroom hunter (I would mention the species of mushroom I hunt but it would give my location away).

It is nice to meet you all. I just want to thank you all for the wealth of knowledge contained on this site and your time spent teaching others. I recently completed my first extraction, and it was a success. I used q21q21's tek on Acacia Confusa root bark. The result was a clear amber oil.

I vaporized 20mg of this oil using my homemade "Machine" made out of a miniature liquor bottle. The resulting experience was very intense and beautiful, but also raised many questions in my mind.

What is this magical realm I have seen?
Is it the divine?
Is it part of our reality, just on a level that we cannot physically see?
Is it all a construct of my brain? (The scientist/skeptic part of my brain leans towards this answer)
Did I see certain things only because I had read about them before (previous influence)?

And the list goes on. The only way I can think to answer these questions is by more exploration.

These questions, in my thinking, may not be answerable until there are more clinical tests on the neuroscience of the DMT experience, and a greater understanding of our brains and of reality itself.

Hi and welcome Argyle!

Nice that you have decided to join the forum and introduce yourself. THis is a good place to gather information and enter into discussions and debates with other people. I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I always find it interesting that so many people put "prior influence" as something the think could be responsible for what they saw. When I first tried spice I had read all kinds of things about it, but what I encountered was not really like any of what I had read. I mean, certainly the fractal patterns and the colors, yes... but the types of entities I've met in general don't correspond to what is commonly encountered i.e. elves or aliens - so for me this question of yours never arose.

As to the other questions, I suppose those are the big ones, that so far no one has been able to answer with any real evidence. It's a matter of faith, and one can choose or remain agnostic about it. Whatever it is though, it is interesting for sure.

happy traveling!

Hi Argyle,

Welcome to the Nexus. Great introductory essay by the way - a nice concise way of giving us a decent sense of yourself. Thank you so much.

Congratulations on your success extracting from acacia. I'm so glad folks are making this happen and are actually getting DMT out of it. And yeah, I feel those questions you ask are the big ones for DMT. The ones that many continue to ponder and debate. Check the Health & Safety link - there's a great introduction/warning in there about DMT and a reminder that we often go into it with questions and come out with even more questions.

I am so glad you decided to sign up for a formal members. Keep posting and I'm sure I'll be voting you for promotion. Thanks again for the intro essay.
