Hello all,

I have been looking around to settle in some forum that revolves around DMT until I got here, and to be honest I read a reply by a member that said "If you just want to get high or have a thrill, DMT will KICK YOUR ASS TO THE END OF THE UNIVERSE." by 69Ron

This instantly made me love this forum and pushed me to sign up; I do however have a couple of questions I've been thinking of and I hope I can get a couple of your insights.

I am a very critical person, I doubt everything, I was raised in a religion (islam) and by the time I got to 17 I had lost all faith although my family was pretty religious, by that time I was convinced that there is no way in hell god could have sent ANY religion on earth that claims it is right and that if you are not in you are likely to go to hell. This naturally lead me to think about the real God, and of-course the path to even doubting the presence of one.

Why do I tell you this? well honestly because I have been thinking that I am right on the cliff of a spiritual awakening and all I need is a push (perhaps dmt) to allow me to fly/get there.I have been thinking about reality, humanity and consciousness for very long now, I've researched meditations and have been trying to meditate for a bit as well, I learned that I am very interested in the altering of consciousness and if nothing else its a great gift everyone should experience. I however have yet to try any psychedelics although I have thoroughly researched them and listened to many people talk about them like Terrence Mckenna and timothy leary.

I feel like the hectic requirements of our materialistic life are distracting me from the real purpose of my existence, which I do not know yet, but I sense a spiritual awakening that will help me know this purpose (if there is one). I'm not even sure what a Spiritual awakening is or how it would be, but all I can say is that I feel that I can very vaguely see it in my future, kinda like having two large mirrors facing each other in a room and they reflect each other infinitely, all I can understand about what my awakening will be like is what I can make of in what is at the end of the infinitely reflecting mirrors

. Even with all this ambiguity I feel infinitely keen to experience such a moment or as close as possible to the answers it provides.

Now to my point (sorry for all the long probably very vague writing) :

I have read about people trying DMT, and almost all of them say they have experienced the most intense moment and that they learned something very huge that its unexplainable, almost all also claim to be awakened, this makes me very disappointed, could it be that the substance;s ability to give awakening to ever-body is nothing but science? and life is really nothing but molecules interacting in biochemical reactions that give us consciousness ? If one chemical is able to do that to everyone then maybe there is nothing to it but our minds tricking us ? I know this is a very sad way to think of it, and I am sorry if you hate people who sum such a great experience to you in such a lame way.
Maybe you can give me some insight on whether you think DMT is able to really give answers to those who seek it as opposed to just providing the feeling that you have received an answer (to everyone) ?

Sometimes I hate that I relate everything to science and I do not know if I can stop it!

I have thought of that also, but the good thing is that, even IF it is all just a mirage produced by chemicals, the experiencer YOU, ME, etc) MUST be eternal, and the Source of all.
God (Allah, Buddha, Me You, etc) is in his heaven and all's well.
I'm sure you are familiaar with RUMI, also reads Descartes cogito ergo sum (I think, therefore I am ) and explore it, find it's appeal and its flaws, meditate, you and I will together discover that we already know more than we know, I for one, don't know that yet,

Welcome to the Nexus. Great introduction - thank you very much for sharing. Great to see you also found the chat room, .

It sounds like you are well into a great start with researching DMT. Keep it going I'd say. Take a good look around here - this place is huge and packed. You will see your questions reflected by other members.

I'd also like to suggest that you not make DMT your very first psychedelic. Why not grow and try various mushroom doses first? Just an idea, as a rather high dose of mushrooms can be kind of like DMT.

Meanwhile, I warn you, that as you have noticed, many of us have spiritual experiences or have our atheism turned into a kind of spirituality, and yet DMT if it answers any deep questions will only give rise to a set of new ones. It is the first part of the Health & Safety link, which I believe appeared in your welcoming pm and it does appear in the upper left hand corner of your forum pages.
