Bathing in the Love of God
Hello all, I've been putting off registering on this forum for quite a while.

I have had several experiences with the classical psychedelic substances in my life, but these experiences number less than what could be counted on your fingers. Nevertheless, these experiences have proven to be the most valuable experiences of my life, and I feel as if I have gained universal insights which shall prove to hold their value as long as I am alive on this Earth. I had not previously considered myself as someone with a spiritual mind until I decided to try these substances.

I no longer use entheogens; this is a personal decision of mine and it is what I feel most comfortable with. That is not to say, however, that I do not consider them to be an interesting and inherently valuable subject in which to focus much of my time studying and learning about. I believe that the classical psychdelics are direct pathways to spirtual realms, and that they have been used for the purpose of spiritual exploration for time immemorial. I wish to surround myself with others that hold this opinion in order to strengthen my own knowledge on the subject, and if I can, to help others do the same.

I've registered on several other forums "focused" on psychedelics in the past, but the lot of them seem to be wholly juvenile and uninteresting. The one that comes to mind first is the Shroomery, an environment which I think is very detestable. I do not have patience for those who treat psychedelics in any way other than with the utmost respect, and even fear, of what they are capable of.

I am studying psychology at University and I am in my second semester of classes. I recently wrote a paper in my Psychopathology class which detailed my opinion on the so-called disorder "HPPD", and how I think that this "disorder" is actually one of the many ways our society conditions us to only accept certain ways of life, or even models of consciousness, as acceptable. I will attach the paper to this post so that anyone who is interested in reading it may read it.

I spend much of my time reading books on psychology and philosophy, and most recently I have read Food of the Gods by Terrence McKenna, Beyond Good and Evil by Nietzsche as well as another one of his books called The Birth of Tragedy from the Spirit of Music. I also spend much of my time playing guitar and attempting to improve my skill at this activity, I am constantly writing songs and riffs and trying to come up with new ways of playing in my head. I am a huge music fan and hold an appreciation for all styles. I hope that I can immerse myself in the community here and learn a thing or two from my peers.

Cheers!!!

Hi xtripper-,

thank you for your intro and for sharing your paper. We seem to have a customized disorder for every need and situation... the last time I browsed the DSM-IV manual I was impressed with the variety commercially available these days.

Just in case you didn't think about it, please note that your name appears on the paper you shared; you may want to re-post it (replace with your nickname perhaps?) and then remove the one in the first post.

Welcome to the Nexus.

Thank you Vodsel for the response, I wasn't sure whether or not I should remove my name from the paper, but I have edited it accordingly and uploaded a new copy.

I agree that the DSM-IV should be approached with skepticism. It's probably one of Big Pharma's biggest moneymakers.

Welcome to the Nexus, xtripper! I think you'll fit right in here; I've found this is a very respectful and intelligent community with a lot to share.
Enjoyed the paper!
