honestly, there's really no reason to consider anything but the pKa's in the aqueous phases. dmt is largely nonpolar, and doesn't really need much help diffusing into the nonpolar phase, at a net 0 charge.

but tinker with salts, if you feel like experimenting. I just see no real advantage.
