Help--I d-limo'ed before sufficiently basifying

Migrated topic.

Hey there nexians, I know someone asked this before and I can't find the post so I'm asking again.

Just like the title says, I'm pretty sure my MHRB was not sufficiently basified, which is why the d-limo ain't pickin' anything up. What can I do at this point to further basify the MHRB, since it's already saturated with D-limo? Only thing I can think of is to dehydrate it, but this is 2kg of stuff and I wish there was an easier way.

Thanks!

you can add more base even with the limo added I think...at least I have done it with lime. How do you know the limo picked nothing up? did you already try salting it?

Ok well I added a ton of koh and no change in ph nor is the d-limo picking anything up. Guess a good long drying is in order

You are over complicating this. Measure the PH. PH 11 should be enough, 12 is better. Then do your limo pulls as directed.
If the limonene is not precipitating any yield then something must be wrong with either... the starting material or the method of precipitation.

Adding base while the solvent is in the solution will not affect anything.

How are you salting? Perhaps not enough FASI?

Hm, so it's another anomaly. I'm getting used to anomalies now.

I did measure the pH. It's somewhere between 11 and 12. I don't know why this is not working. I did 1kg successfully just a few hours ago and the only difference was that I had that one at pH 13-14. But, I am in no rush, so I will simply dry out that d-limo and start again.

I don't understand how not enough FASI or FASW could be the problem since if I put even a little bit in, it should be dark yellow or red as usual. Instead it is almost clear.

Yeah, after my first aya session I decided I had to get a lifetime supply. Well, right after it, I was like, "What was the point of that?" But then I realized, wow, what is the point of anything but that?

Right now I'm realizing I might need to move soon so I'm trying to get stuff compact enough to bring with.

No point in drying.
Is this bark really good ?
Maybe salt again but prepare a new acidic solution. You may have mistook the jars of acid/base.
Or add more base and do pull again.

The reason I'm drying out my limonene is because I can't basify anything that is soaked in limonene. I know you say I can, but I've tried and it doesn't work. Have you actually done this yourself and found that it does work? Because that would be spooky.

This bark is great, I JUST did an extraction on 1kg of it with no problems at pH 13-14. The problem, I'm pretty sure, is that pH 11-12 ain't good enough. This is a STB tek, so no acid.

@rOm: what is Xtek?
