Hernia from vomiting/purging

Migrated topic.

I may have acquired a hiatal hernia from dry heaving after a caapi tea purge about 6 months ago.

The day right after I purged, I felt a deep, sharp pain under the bottom part of my ribs on my left side above my stomach whenever I inhaled deeply. Since then the pain has turned into a dull ache in the same area, exasperated by eating large meals and after lying down for an extended period of time. Other symptoms include acid indigestion felt deep in the lower part of my chest. These symptoms are all consistent with a hiatal hernia, so that is what I suspect I have, although they haven't been severe enough to warrant going to the doctor...yet.

My concern is that if it is an acquired hiatal hernia, and my stomach is lodged/twisted up into my ribcage, it will start to lose bloodflow and become life-threatening (as I have read about), but I'm not 100% sure that's what it is. So the purpose of this post is to not only inquire about anyone else that may be experiencing these symptoms after vomiting, and/or knows about this condition, but also to bring attention to the possible negative effects of severe vomiting/purging.

Thanks Nexians...

I'm sorry to hear that you are having health issues after taking caapi. I suggest you visit a doctor before you diagnose yourself with something like this. If it is something serious, usually it's best to get it looked at ASAP and before it gets more damamged or causes more damage. If it's not serious you will save yourself a lot of unnecessary worries.

Let us know what the doc says. Heal well and all the best to you!

Yeah, there have been a couple times where I felt my guts knotting up scarily so from purging, but it never provided any perceptible long-term problems yet, so I haven't actually bothered to get anything checked out, but suffice to say, it's probably one of the reasons I've been drinking less and less DMT as of late.

@ Enoon: Well, the symptoms have been gradually decreasing, but at such a slow rate that I might still go see the doc. Thanks for the advice.

@ Global: Glad to hear you haven't had any long term problems. It's probably best to limit sessions to only once in a while for integration anyways.

^ That's possible, as I've heard forceful coughing, sneezing, and strenuous exercise can also cause hernias.
