Hey been lurking for a couple weeks now. And almost got all my ingredients to try to extract with cybs salt tek waiting for my lye to get here... of if there is an easier tek for a noob or any suggestions I'm all ears

Other than that I have a couple questions.. I see in some posts people use the word "swim".. yet I do not know what this is abriviated from even searching hasn't helped.


I also was curious if I can use normal iodized salt or it has to be non iodized...

"SWIM" ( or "SWIY" ) is the acronym for Someone Who Isn't Me (or You).

Similar to the false understanding that illegal extractions are "making soap", people mistakenly conclude that using SWIM absolves them from legal liability. You know, 'cause, like, you're not admitting any illegal activity if you just say it wasn't you! Ya, nope. Courts will laugh at you out of the room into jail if you ever stand trial. Actions, intent, and all that.

Cybs tek is about as easy & beginner friendly as it gets.

Iodized salt, i don`t think should pose a problem but I may be wrong. There was mention of it somewhere here but iirc nobody was entirely sure if it was completely inert.

I do suggest, however, that you use pickling salt instead of regular table salt. It is non-iodized & has no anti-caking agents or trace minerals. You can usually find Morton brand at most large chain stores.
 
Thanks for that both of you. Yea the swim thing sounds like it wouldn't work anyways in court..

Going to buy a glass turkey baster and just waiting for the lye. I seem to have everything else
 
Are you using acacia or mimosa KB?

You may want to follow Earthwalkers variation of cybs tek for acacia if you want a more crystalline product.
 
I will be using acacia confusa bark already finely powdered.. I'll give a look at that tek when I get home
