Hortensia? No, thanks!

SWIM has wanted to try psychedelics since he was in his early teens, but his curiosity was never unrestrained. He read up a lot and learned that it isn't stuff you should be playing with if you don't know what you're doing. It was about 20 years ago. The best seller on the black market used to be heroin and SWIM was definitely not going to have a go at it (scared as hell), and besides he didn't want to deal with that kind of people anyway.

One day SWIM found a strange plant in the countryside. "These leaves sure look familiar!" he thought, and happily harvested. Later he found out it was a male plant and not very potent, but that's how he got to know Mary Jane. As time went by, Mary and SWIM got closer and closer, but he never got a chance to try acid (hard to get by around here) or mesc (totally impossible to get by).

As the years passed, SWIM found that he's got a bit of a green thumb. Maybe it's that he loves his plants, maybe it's that he choose his loving plants wisely - no senile hortensia, no prickly rose, but lemons, pomegranates, plums and many, many strains of chili peppers. SWIM only does outdoors and he can't grow Mary Jane because the neighbors will know in a flash and he'll get looted, busted or both.

Cacti are different. SWIM's little prickly friends are easy to grow, inconspicuous looking and have no smell. Maybe SWIM found his own way! He's got some lovely babies that he'd like to identify (here's the thread: Cactus Identification - Welcome discussion - Welcome to the DMT-Nexus ). He also appears to have a few lovely babies that need no identification.

I like places where the discussions are focused and civilized. I see this board is such a place and a resting harbour for many competent chemists and expert travellers. I'm no chemist and no seasoned psychonaut, but I'm curious and careful enough that I will definitely make my own experiences.

Thanks endlessness,
I like it here. Friendly atmosphere, to the point discussions (well, at least in the technical forums) and quite a bunch of nice folks!

what kind of climate is it where you are? if you have the green thumb and climate permits, you should try growing as many ethnobotanicals as possible :D

Very mild temperate, some years nearly subtropical. As an example: bananas would grow but hardly fruit. I would like to try and grow all the interesting plants I can, but someone suggests it's not wise. I'd better let SWIM do it. See what weird looking puppies she has?
