TEK Hot Water Extraction Temperatures - Steeping vs Boiling.

I was watching a video on steeping herbs and the person said that steeping herbs isn’t very effective and that most herbs should be boiled for at least 15mins to extract all the medicinal benefits, even though the taste can become bitter.

This made me wonder about an extraction I performed with acacia phyllodes and twigs in my slow cooker that never reached boiling point. I had read some notes by Keeper Trout about various ayahuasca brew methods he had encountered and one was a brew masters technique where the brew used excess water, little if any fruit acid and was never permitted to boil at any point.

If someone made a brew using sub-boiling temperatures, surely this would result in an extraction consisting of alkaloids exclusive to the lower temperatures that liberated them, leaving behind constituents that need prolonged boiling to be released?

I’m curious, do we know what temperature(s) alkaloids are realised from plant materials during the hot water extraction stage? What temperature is DMT released? What temperature is NMT released? And what temperatures are any additional constituents realised?

My final thought is (following the herbal tea logic) if plant material isn’t boiled thoroughly the resulting extract may have ratios of alkaloids that differ from the plants inherent alkaloid profile.

i understand your question. however, there is another factor to consider in dmt extraction teks, and that is the acid bath. I have read several different texts where the bark is soaked in an acid bath for 24-48 hours at room temperature. it should give the same effect as boiling it. I don't have any experience with it myself, but I hope this could provide some answers to your question, so you can possibly look for further info yourself :)
