Yea, my 12 inch pipette was very cheap, like 7 bucks, and I can't imagine extraction without it. That being said, it is a very tedious skill that gets better with each pull.
What I do, is with the pipette, suck up most of the nps, then when I'm getting to where it's hard to suck up the nps without getting the base soup, I just start transferring into a shot glass rather than my extraction vessel [edit-collection dish, not extraction vessel(which has the soup)]. I finish the last few suck-ups with the pipette, shooting into the shot glass.
When the nps is all or mostly out of the mix, I'll then clean my pipette to get the purple bits out, then suck up the nps from the shot glass, where it's much easier to get that last bit and avoid the base particles that sink to the bottom.
The cool thing is that doing this method - you really can siphon all your nps without getting a single drop of purple in your collection dish.
