Hey guys i have a quick question i have been growing CACTUS for about 1 and a half years and i love it i have grown them from seeds & cuttings but any time i take a cutting for propagation and to start a new CACTUS it goes fine but the thing i am wondering why is when i take the cuttings my CACTUS will only kick off 1 pup and i know it can be better up to the range of 1-4 pup is there any way to make the CACTUS kick off more>???

Any time i took a cutting i take it at 45 degree angle so water can drain off and not rot are mold.

I cut at an angle to make as many of the areoles be the same distance down from the spot you cut. Usually getting as many areoles on the very top of the cut base as possible. Have never been able to get all the ribs to pop a pup out, but I've gotten 6 on an 8 rib. Problems can arise if you get too many ribs in a row due to overcrowding. I usually like them to be seperated by one rib, so as to not be trying to pump up too many pups at once.

I remember reading somewhere of people using coconut milk to induce extra pupping. You might try researching that. Never tried it myself, I just let them grow the way they want to.
