I have Returned to where it all began....

Alev-Kev

Just a consciousness walking around in a meatsak
Hey, Family! I lost access to my other account, Alev-Kev, from the old forum, so I've made a new one to get back in The Mix with the great minds of the Nexus. I'm the son of an organic Chemistry Professor and have experimented with a bunch of extraction paths. I believe I found an absolute CRUSHER of a Tek by combining elements of Cyb's works from 3 different teks to make the Hybrid-hybrid Tek, the HIGHEST YIELDING path I've found for Mimosa bark.

Dreamer, if you could do that, I'd appreciate it! Mod: Removed Account Information
Too many passwords...

Lovely pics of that fluffy white goodness! Please do share more about your tek so we can cross-reference it to our existing wealth of teks and if it's different enough and provides benefits other teks don't, it might be included in our wiki!
So, it's a Composite Tek using A/B, Max Ion, and Hybrid Salt tek. Bring to boil, simmer until thick porridge, then freeze 2X. After, that acidify with Acetic, by bringing to bubbling simmer. In separate pan bring water to boil and add measured salt until solution is a salt slurry. Add to bark soup and remove from heat, while stirring mixture. Allow to cool for a while, before transfer to pulling vessel. Base with NaOH, and separate with solvent and pipette. A lot of steps but the bark gives up ALL of its magic this way. 3% is a "standard" expectation with this route. Again, ALL Credits go to Cyb! for the legwork. I simply combined pieces that seemingly perform better.

When you add the salt slurry, don't you have precipitation of some sticky slimy stuff?
I had with my first ever extraction.
Perhaps I could just have left it in an see what happens when basifying.

I wonder about the boiling, max Ion (th version I have) says do not heat to hot (only such that one can handle without burning). So is boiling not destroying the good substabces?

Hey, thanks for the question... I start the heat to bring it to a boil, but reduce heat as soon as it heats up, and keep it at a simmer. Keep stirring periodically so bark doesn't burn to bottom of pan before heat reduces. THAT would be about the only issue. If you get a slime, it's usually the beginning of an emulsion. Add more salt until it dissipates.
As to the "do's & don'ts'' ... I tested the limits of heat, acid, and base in these extraction paths and found a Goldilocks Zone of the combined elements; hence the name of the Tek is Hybrid-hybrid tek.

Ok, so I may get my accounts merged... if so, I'm posting a new extraction tomorrow or Saturday. It'll be in DMT discussion... Stoked to be here, again, and back in the lab.

I finished my documentation. Not an impressive result. So either the MHRB or the parameters have not been good. I will try to follow your approach's parameters next time with spitted batch; perhaps I was just outside the Goldilocks Zone...

I posted a new extract step by step.... in DMT discussion
