i just gotta say

Migrated topic.

i tend to think the nursery is a bit degrading.
the nexus is an increadible resource for our subculture, where community can be hard to find. i visit this site often and there is much that i can relate with and am capable of speaking to, but the dialog isnt really happening in the nursery. it just feels like a place where people are expected to present themselves as "acceptable"....its difficult, because it just feels inauthentic to chime in where i'm uninspired for the sake of a post count...

im just wanting to give resonance to my point of view. im still here and will still be here, exploring the site, whether or not im capable of posting outside of the nursery.

idk, i suspect the nursery filters out more than it was originally intended to.

There is no need for arbitrary posts that just build a post count. We here at the nexus tend not to value information or individuals based on the number of posts below their name. If you write a good strong introduction and engage people who respond to it, that is generally enough to get promoted. If you have knowledge that you can share or help others with (i.e. answering some of the extraction questions in the nursery) this is another way to show that you are a valuable member of the community and not a troll.

The nursery was created to prevent this site turning into the shroomery or any of the various other drug-related forums that are so full of people bashing each other no legitimate discussions can take place. Even with the nursery, there has been an increase in the number of disturbing posts. This is not an elitist point of view. We simply have a very nice community and wish to keep it that way. There are very simple things you can do to get promoted and if you are truly interested in joining the nexus, they're really not large hurdles or ridiculous obstacles. Personally, I would rather be overly stringent about who gets let in and make people have to "work" for it (although that's hardly the case) rather than letting anyone who wants in, in. It's nothing personal against you or anyone else who wants to join the regular discussions. You want to be a part of those discussions as much as I want to be able to keep having those discussions. Without the nursery, flame posts and trolls would quite probably prevent the discussions we are both so interested in.

Please, just follow the minimal steps it takes to get promoted and I assure you that you will be welcomed into the nexus as a full member.

There is also nothing stopping you from starting an interesting or meaningful topic in the nursery. People will still read it and respond to it.

the nursery exists that only intelligent and "deep" people with a meaningful approach to psychedelics can share their opinion at the main topics.
We don't care about " woahh i was so high last night, that sht is crazy " ...

That's all

If there are any topics that interest you, just comment on them! That’s what I did.

Don’t let your “nursery” status limit you!

Exactly,

If anyone in the Nursery has good intentions and want to have an input on what we are doing here, exploring and researching the molecule, promotion will follow.

And as gibran2 said, if there are topics that you feel you can contribute towards, and are unable to do so cos' of Nursery restrictions, post them, in future more members starting here with questions/answers/comments on these subjects will have a chance to add aswell while in the Nursery.

Anyway, welcome to the Nexus bro, hope to hear more from you:)

Some of the most interesting and compelling threads are in the nursery; everyone spends time there - I'm sure you will as well, once you're a full member which will undoubtedly happen soon. And it's not meant to be demeaning at all, its just a necessary filter that keeps the culture of this forum intact. You are welcome here, friend

I don't see the point in getting frustrated

finding out about this place is a whole world in itself! A person could(and should I think, before posting anything) read for days!

so, be happy your part of a "Nexus" of information and be part of it! lol

welcome to the Nexus!

I dont understand the problem?

People here answer my questions, and i can share my experiences with them.

If i need something from the rest of the site i can still read it. If i want to post something related to it i can do

It in the nursery, i dont think it matters. And honestly i worry about posting TOO much rather then getting a post

count... i just feel i have so much to share but dont want to flood the forum. I think the nursery is fine.

When I finally got over being frustrated that I was in the nursery was when I finally got promoted. Funny how that works.

There's a lesson in there somewhere for all of us clever monkeys ...

i hear whats being said. and I'll admit theres been a whine in my tone. "but...but...but...they talkin'bout steven hawkings and aliens over there!"

your welcome feels very genuine 88, thank you.

Wow. Its not degrading here. Have you even looked around or did you just get tripped out on the fact that we gotta wait to get noticed somehow? It doesnt really matter. Its about the medicine. Post what you want here. Post replies to regular threads here. Come into the chat. We need more nursery members there.

I've been reading for over a year :D I do feel lucky that I found this place (well, was told about this place by one of the great members of this forum). It is a whole world. So much to read and absorb.

I don't feel frustrated. I'm in no rush to become a full member. When I feel like I can contribute something meaningful and I have enough experience, I'll do what I have to do to become one. It's not a competition or a race for me. It takes time to learn, and that's what I'm doing here.
