If you could, would you still?

Migrated topic.

Immagine that you have mastered an autohypnotic technique that enables you to visualize any substance and see yourself taking it. You proceed to trip in the usual fashion, the only difference being that you are able to pause the experience at any time and resume at a later date.

Would there still be any reason to continue taking these substances?

Well, I'd have to actually do each new substance I would like to use (at least) a few times so as to know the experience.

I think if I could do it at will, just turn it off or on when ever I want, I'd probably do it all the time. It could be a bad habit, or not. I could just turn it off when I need to interact with people.

But I feel the work involved with acquiring our substances (extracting spice) is a part of the experience. That and trying different forms like aya, and changa. Adding different herbs to changa and I'm sure aya to, can have surprising effects.

I think it might be this kind of novelty that could be lacking with this "autohypnotic technique". Maybe, maybe not? Can we be sure without physically taking the substance?

I'd probably use the technique, but as Mysmelf stated, it would probably turn into a bad habit.

Here's another question, if someone developed that technique, would it be made illegal?

Bliss on demand . . . !

Sister thinks that could become a trap one might never escape from. Unless you could fine tune it so you can experience bliss while still being able to function in the material world. Yes it would take some calibration to make it work.
