We've all read the promotion statement- why repost it?

Because cosmiclearning had obviously not read it as it clearly states there are no minimum requirements other than satisfying the mods and hence there is no such thing as 'being above the process'. I am trying to make the point that the process does not state any absolute requirements and hence I *MAY* satisfy the requirements already. If a mod tells me otherwise then that's fine.

Actually reading others posts and making genuine contributions would go a lot further than "padding post count with inane replies to discussions."

My point exactly. I don't want to post in social threads. I don't want to comment in tek threads if I am not familiar with the tek. It's been 16 years since my first steps in hyperspace, so I can barely remember them and hence would be unsuited to comment in that section. And I did not find anything I could contribute to in the open discussion. That's the only options as stated in the welcome statement.

Next week I will have probably forgotten that I wanted to contribute here ... until the next interesting thread gets linked elsewhere in a couple of months and then the whole thing starts again. Just because I don't eat, breathe and **** DMT doesn't mean I haven't got stuff to contribute in specific threads. If that's not wanted then fine, but I know my limitations so I thought I'd give it a try. Can't believe it has become so controversial, LOL.
