Yes it was quite the adventure, it was very short however, the whole trip crammed into 15 days! We stayed in Baga in Goa, no I really wish we had rented bikes in Goa would have loved to travel the coast on a bike but too little time, only spent 4 days in Goa, rented a nice beach cottage though. Never heard any of the names you mention, Bobbie's restaurant in Baga was our hang. Upon looking into it, Hampi looks equally amazing, what with the temples and all.

Yes you are lucky about not getting sick, but it was interesting and I think added to the India experience.

I also have a trip planned in a few months, aiming for 7 months in Southeast Asia, where I will DEFINITELY be renting a bike.
