How is it going. I decided I wanted to take a break from conventional social media. I've been using other forums for a LONG time and I feel like I can finally call this one home. I'm interested in a variety of topics, first and foremost being psychedelic artwork. I am an artist and I've just begun to experiment with dimethyltryptamine after a 7 year hiatus. I'm super stoked about this website haha. :)
 
I'd love to be able to look at your art. I take it you won't be able to hyperlink it to a site like this though?

I think you'll fit in nicely in these parts. Are you experienced in any extractions? Be sure to check out the Art sub-forums throughout the site, too.
 
Wow, I really like the first one. It reminds me of the background of some of the chambers I was in during my first travel. Haven't seen anything like the other two personally. That first one looks like it took an awful long time to color if I'm guessing the scale right.

Do you draw them first?
 
Thanks to both of ya! I did the first one with sharpies and colored pencil ( it did take a long time to color lol) The second one I did with highlighters and sharpies. So it's blacklight reactive. The third is an acrylic painting I did. I have a LOT more to show lol. Those are basically sketchbook drawings.

I'm about to do another extraction soon. I usually just use nomans stb tek. I've been considering using cyb's tek but I'm not sure if I want to go that route. I'm on a vision quest right now trying to build up enough ideas for a black light show I want to do once the covid-19 is dying down.

I know it's generally rude to ask someone with artistic talent to paint/make something for them, but if you could be one of the few artists I've ever seen capture the darker aspects of a DMT trip, I would greatly appreciate that. I just don't really see any artists capture the darker sphere of psychedelics. It's near impossible to even Google.

Not saying right now, or even relatively soon. I just think it's a genre that should be explored at some point. All psychedelic art is either wonky or always trying to capture the divine good.

If you think it might set you off-balance, don't even give it two thoughts though. I would never want you to pursue something that could hurt your psyche. But if you've already had the experiences I think it would be cool to paint/draw. I would if I could :d
 
Oh believe me man. I've had plenty of hard times during trips, especially after eating mushrooms. On five dried grams I've seen people literally turn into demons. Horns coming out of their bone structure. Drooling over innocent humans. These people later on in the future ended up traumatically hurting people I love more than anything in the world. I'll paint it for you man. It was so vivid . It will have to be in a graphic novel style. I've always wanted to do a little comic of my high school days of tripping. Thanks for the suggestion man I really appreciate you.
Alex Grey made this one a long time ago. It's fairly accurate detail of a bad trip in my opinion.

Haha, fantastic! I really didn't want to push you.

I'm honestly not a huge fan of Alex Gray's work. Even peering over his stuff there's only a few dark landscapes of hyperspace. Thank you for pointing him out for me though. I've definitely seen his paintings, but had no idea who he was.

I would also not like genetic information encapsulated in a protein shell inserting its code into my CNS through the back of my neck. Looks like a bad time.
 
I'm a huge fan of Alex haha. I've got all of his books. I wish the chapel of sacred mirrors was closer to me because I want to make the pilgrimage. His ideas about art being a sacred path inspired me A LOT when I was experimenting with LSD. If you haven't checked out the COSM youtube channel you should. They started it when COVID hit and I'm not going to lie its fucking awesome. There are a lot of interesting ideas being floated around by him, his wife, and other artists.
