Vodsel and Pandora, thanks for the reception and interest.
I have much to tell, but have limitations to express myself in your language.
My experience is little, but my people Kariri and the others have tradition.
We are few now, and I don't live home since young, went to city for education so I didn't learn about jurema secret until recent.
We are treated as inferiors in our own land and it's so sad our culture is lost as our ancestors go.
My hopes are now revitalized as I see many guardians here, and spreading this wisdom around the world.
So far I know "uni", our name for ayahuasca brew, jurema root and angico seeds (also called yopo).
Jurema and angico are everywhere, even at road sides, but no one knows about it, juremas are cut and burned as charcoal in tiles fabrics.
I had a personal experience that made this two plants even more special to me.
Couple years ago, I was involved in a car accident.
I lost stability on a curve and went strait off road, keeling over on a little cliff area.
It was the road side small angicos that slowed down the car, and it stopped by an old jurema next to the cliff.
Anyone who saw the smashed car wouldn't believe there was survivers, but I had only scratches from jurema thorns and broken glass.
I didn't know about this at the time, for me it was only off road wild trees that was in the right place.
But recently in my first breakthroughs, this came to me hard.
Made sense, as a wild wake-up call and had a serious purpose that now I understand.
I feel like it's part of my life and the reason I'm alive, as it was for the ancient.
