Is my Dimitri OK?

Well, I've done an extraction before, and got over 2.5 grams of yellow crystal.

I did the same method a second time, and ended up with this powder looking stuff. It doesn't at all look like the crystals I got the first time. It kinda looks like a very light yellowish powder. It's more white than anything.

Let me explain what happened to get it. I had about 600 ml of naphtha, that I evaporated down to about half.

Once I did that, I put the naphtha in a mason jar, which I then placed in the freezer. I take it out 5 hours later just to examine it, but the stuff is FULL of DMT crystals, so i took it out and poured it through a coffee filter. THere was a lot in the filter and I was scared that was what DMT is not supposed to look like, that I put some back in the naphtha. I let hte filter sit still since then, so that stuff is completely dry. I scraped it up and it's about .2 grams.

And I let the jar sit since yesterday, but today the crystals are still on the bottom (just floating in the naphtha) so I poured it out on a plate now I'm evaporating again since it's easier than using the freezer (parents).

On the bottom of the pyrex baking dish I have tons of crystals, that will probably end up looking like this powder I got originally.

Is this DMT ok to smoke though?

It's much lighter in color than the DMT I got the first time, and actually less smelly, but it doesn't look like crystals like the first one.

Also, is it alright that I decided to evaporate the rest of it? I got a fan blowing on the baking dish right now, and if this stuff is OK to smoke I'm just wondering, cuz I'm probably going to get a lot of it.

sounds normal to me however i always recommend cleaning and recrystallizing
you can use this method here

okay heres whatcha do:

(premix solution of 2g sodium carbonate in 300ml warm water)
take your spice an dissolve in a minimal amount of warm naphtha say 50-100ml and add to sepp funnel
add 50ml wash solution (what you just mixed) to the funnel and swirl vigorously for a few mins drain the bottom layer and repeat 2-3 more times then do it 2-3 more times with plain warm water
drain you naphtha through a coffee filter filled with a small bit of epsom salt
then pour a bit more clean warm naphtha over the epsom to wash off any residue
(put naphtha in a dish cover with saran wrap and freeze in a COLD freezer) or.... put you naphtha in a dish and set in a place where there will be no vibrations and cover it partially with a coaster or something and let it alone for a week or so dont even look at it :) check on it in a week and take the coaster off and let any residue evap

happy trails :)
any questions ill do my best..

Not sure if it helps, but I did do a sodium carbonate wash on the 600 ml of naphtha.

And the best way to dry it would be just to lay it on a coffee filter for a while, right?

there's some big "chunks" in the dish that wouldn't pour out when I poured the mason jar's naphtha, so I scraped it from the mason jar and put it in the dish. Should I take this out? It seems like it will only get dirtier by putting it back in.

sounds good then just let it dry out and see what ya got

That sounds normal to me too. I get these, small white crystals on the bottom of the frozen solvent. You need to scrape them loose and then pour the solvent through a filter (I use a Buchner and qualitative filters). What I end up with are fluffy powdery flakes, mostly white but with a slight yellow tint.

Well all the naphtha evaporated.

Yellow crystals are left behind on the dish, and it seems a gooey film is on the dish too. I guess it's not completely dry, although most of the crystals look ready

Keep evaporating or scrape it up? And once I scrape it up, leaving it on a coffee filter for a while will dry it out, correct?

The point of a freeze precipitation is to leave impurities in the naphtha.

By drying all the naphtha you kinda lost some purity of the spice. This is why it is gooey.

I would dissolve what you have in about 50mL of warm naptha and put it back in the freezer. I hate coffee filters, they eat up spice. A much better way (I have found) is to decant the naphtha off of the xtals and then let them dry in the jar.

Otherwise, congrats on the extraction. The first is always a bit nerve wracking. You'll gain more confidence as you perfect your technique.

Yeah, recrystallize it. I thought it would be really hard to do the first time i tried it and it was actually really easy. Go for it! You can turn that goo into yummyness :)
