Is Other solvent possible ?

Migrated topic.
I'd assume xylene, limonene or heptane would all technically be suitable replacements...although limonene and xylene will extract more than just dmt.

Most countries sell naphtha in the form of lighter fluid. I've heard people using zippo lighter fluid with good results, but don't take my word for it, as I haven't tried that brand first hand. I use ronsonol lighter fluid for my extracting needs.

I'm having great results with octane.
If you are located in the Netherlans it's called 'wasbenzine' and in Germany I believe its called 'wundbenzin' or 'waschbenzin'

Pretty cheap too, €3,50 per liter

Well, since my ether experiment didn't work out so well I decided to use wasbenzine. (naphta) But it isn't yellowing after the separation. Shouldn't it be yellow as it was using ether? Or should I let it sit for a day longer? Using Norman's Tek and 50 gram mhrb. I did turn the bottle for several minutes and let it rest afterwards. I used 50 ml wasbenzine. I cannot get more then 25 ml out of it, so where did 25 ml go? There is a thin layer left in the mix but...too shallow to life it out.

Any advice please?

Alright, I guess I will find out then! Maybe ether pulls a lot more from the mixture. Maybe that is why I didn't get crystals but yellow goo. It might have dissolved plant oils.

yes, ether pulls way more than just dmt, pulls a lot of plant impurities too. Youre gonna have to purify it further if you want crystals, either the FASA way or re-x with naphtha or similar. Maybe if you redissolve the ether oil in small amount of warm vinegar, filter, re-base, repull, it will get cleaner, but hard to say because I didnt work with ether so far..

I guess ether is a mixed blessing. It will pull more DMT possibly, but with it impurities. If then you need to do all these things you mentioned you might get a higher yield but at the cost of more work. For someone who is not experienced it is a bit daunting. For someone experienced it could be routine.
