After researching teks so i can better understand the process, it seems like Re-X and Solvent Wash are basically the same thing.

water bath warming naptha to 100-120F
warm spice seperate
slowly add drops of naptha at a time until spice is dissolved
decant from goo in re-x /or/ decant from lye or anything else you sucked up for a solvent wash procedure. if even necessary
add more naptha if you think spice is left in goo still
and then growing crystals at room temp covered /or/ freeze precip

so basically is the only difference that you would keep the goo if it was a re-x. and if it were a solvent wash you would discard since it would possibly be contaminated?
