It's finally Saturday, Now I can make my introduction

I really like the idea of having the questionnaire used as a barrier to entry with regard to posting abilities. It seems to serve not only as a nice way to learn about DMT but as a teaching instrument on what it means to be a contributor of value rather than a contributor of content.

Like most of you all here, my interests include using and learning about DMT, among other entheogens, and hope to one day join the ranks of you fellow travelers able to post. I trust my hyperspace guides to determine the appropriate day to open that door. Time travel must be good for something right?

Hello :)
Not sure if the questionaire is really meant as a barrier, but as a means for some extra exposure (people in the chat will see --and laugh (!) -- at your answers in real time, and if they like'em, they might just give you a promotion)

It is meant as a barrier -- to separate wheat from chaff.

Also, we don't typically promote because someone made us laugh once on the Questionnaire. Though, the answers help us to familiarize ourselves with new members (and especially new members who take the time to fill it out with the correct answers).

Welcome to the Nexus, ergotya. Introduction essays are generally the best MO for promotion. Though, I rarely see promotions on essays with just a few lines. Anything more you can tell us would help us get to know you. ;-)

Welcome to the nexus friend

I agree with A1pha, writing a good solid introduction being the best method towards full membership, but taking the time to do the questionnaire is appreciated too.

Welcome to the community, share a little about yourself, join in the conversations and before you know it you'll be a full member, in the meantime enjoy everything the nexus offers :)

Peace

Well... Full disclosure, I hadn't gone into much detail on my introduction essay purposefully. However, since you fine fellow travelers have welcomed me so generously and encouraged me to do so, I shall comply. Now, I'll attempt to tell you everything about me without telling you anything about me. :)

I had been wandering one day and accidentally tripped over some DMT. It was sudden, but after that moment it was mine. I had told another traveler what had happened and their interest peaked quite rapidly. After having read so much about this mysterious chemical compound by the name of N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, I had decided to take the cautious route and taste my newly acquired warez without my overzealous cohort, which in 99.9% of circumstances is the exact wrong choice.

...Pauses for shaming to die down...

I'd go into detail about why this was that 0.1% circumstance but I won't go into detail about it. So, I had carefully weighed out what I had read to be the absolute minimum amount required to break through knowing full well I wasn't going to risk doing even half that amount. My intentions weren't to break through, they were to get my feet wet and attempt to figure out burn this most strange of chemicals, for it was still quite alien to me.

Well, after one hit, which turned out to be less than half of what I had loaded, I set the pipe down. Then. BAM. Like an abrupt leaf, there was no possible scenario in which I would have thought THIS was going to happen. I would have filed assault charges for the violence with which I was hit were it not for the smile on my face. Thank you sir, may I have another? But no, this was certainly well beyond where I had imagined I'd wander off to. Soon I had come back to, well, this place. But where was I? Was it really hyperspace? Could I have accidentally screwed up my dosage? If it wasn't hyperspace, where the hell was I? I wasn't trying to go anywhere far. I was trying to stay in my neighborhood but I almost left the country. My bags weren't even packed. I hadn't scheduled a (trip) sitter to keep an things while I was gone. I may have been abducted. All I know is that now I have shattered my curiosity into a million little questions which are greater than the sum of it's whole.

Thankfully, I have only consumed a tiny fraction of the quantity of DMT I had so fatefully stumbled upon so I had the ability to continue my journey once all the proper planning and prep work was complete. Unfortunately, my curious cohort lived up to their reputation and had so very wastefully destroyed the remaining amount I had left despite my attempts to prevent that very circumstance.

I'm the kind of traveler that needs answers though. Now that my cache of fuel is gone, I certainly won't be visiting hyperspace anytime soon. At least not as soon I had hoped. Despite my past travels having educated me on where all the best travel supplies can be obtained, my answers won't be discovered using the same level of tact with which my cohort uses. No, no. I've seen it's power and demand to be respected. I want education. Mastery. True understanding. I have respect for my assailant and abductor.

So, I start at the beginning. The root of this problem begins with, well, the root. And so I now stare at my collection of pretties as they peek out from the soil to let me know that they'll be here for me as long as i'm here for them. And the next time I think about traveling, my bags will already be packed and I'll be sure to bring along fellow travelers of like mind and respect for the journey and avoid inviting the guy that shows up drunk and pukes all over your upholstery 20 miles from home on a journey to hyperspace. The way I see it, I've made my introductions and understand what lies ahead but only from a blurry distance. I can't say that I've left the atmosphere but cruising at 10 km above sea level has provided me the clarity to the daunting undertaking for what lies ahead in my travels for the road I have now chosen. I will not be throwing money down toward a ticket and flying commercial. That's too... well, lazy.

I'm taking my tools and building my own spacecraft.

Everyone's different, but DMT rarely gives me answers, only more questions. However, my experience is limited, so others may well feel different.

Great approach :)

Good luck in your travels.
