Kafka's take on suffering

Franz Kafka said:
People label themselves with all sorts of adjectives. I can only pronounce myself as 'nauseatingly miserable beyond repair'.

Some people may view this state of mind as extremely depressed, broken and utterly destructive. Others, however, have accepted this perspective on life, and the very acceptance of it has liberated them from the fear of death so many people experience.

Whether this way of thinking is beneficial or the opposite is what I can't decide upon. What is your opinion?
