One method SWIM's seen used is to do it in a 5gal bucket, tilt the bucket about 45 degrees, and pipette out of the bottom corner of the bucket. SWIY'll get nearly all of the DCM this way, and any extra bits of aqueous solution or MHRB powdered could easily be filtered out of the collected DCM. A kitchen strainer could be utilized to contain or fish-out most of the large chunks so as to not clog your pipette. A good pipette for this could be a rubber bulb-type nasal aspirator (for infants) fitted tightly to a vinyl tube of any desired length.SWIM doesn't believe that solid crystals will be obtained in this way, considering the vast spectrum of materials it'll pull. SWIY'll probably have to do an N-oxide conversion, since the N-oxides won't crystallize. An easy way to retrieve all the desired alkaloids would be through FASA Method, though it won't precipitate the n-oxides, so a conversion will still have to be performed.
