There would be no danger of the laserbeam hitting you eyes. The beam would hit the bottom of the tin bowl, heating it up intensely. The laserbeam wouldn't pass through the tin.


The advantage over a lighter is that you can do it outdoors allthough it is too windy for a steady flame.

Also all it takes is replacing a few batteries every now and then, instead of buying new lighters or lighterfuel all the time.

The long laserpen also provides a handy way to hold it. Who knows it may evaporise very evenly and efficiently.


And don't forget the joy of building a very stylish device, using a green laser to vaporise precious molecules.
