lazymans tek help needed??

Migrated topic.

hi all, this is going to be my 4th time extracting from powdered mimosa hostilis using the quick and simple lazymans tek.
after the first pull, i added more lye+water to help with the second pull..only problem was that my pot wasnt big enough to hold the liquid, so i changed pots (using a much bigger one) but after the quick swap in pots, the mixture started to bubble up as if it was under heat. i thought i might let it sit with the lid on for a couple hours to see if it might settle down, but after checking, i saw that the mix had blasted out of the pot and was all over the place!!
just curious if anyone has had this problem before, and if anybody knows what may have caused this too happen??

oh and would it be okay to pick up the blasted mixture off the floors and try repulling out of it??

any help would be highly appreciated!

sounds like swim's naoh was still reacting with his water, which puts off gas. you don't want to put a lid on it while it's still reacting or, like in swim's case, things explode. i'm sure it's a little late for this advice on this occasion, but, in the event of a spill of naoh solution, you want to spill a ton of vinegar on it to neutralize it. good luck to swim cleaning that up, make sure swim wears gloves at the least.

you shouldnt need more lye or water after the first pull as the ph shouldn't have changed after extracting naptha... whenever you shake up the solution for a little you have to stop and release the lid and it releases all pent up pressure. I'm sorry to hear that it happened but your lucky you weren't in the room with your safety materials off...never add more lye or MHRB if the bottle still gets hot when you shake it...

SWIM adds a little lye (to about half total water), caps bottle, shakes until bottom stays cold, uncap and add some lye & a little water, repeat when the is done and all lye & water is mixed and stays cold on bottom when shaken. Always uncap & recap after finished shaking to prevent this from happening.
