Hi there everyone!

Discovered this website very recently, very interesting what I've seen and read so far really seems like a genuine place for discussion and support, like it!

I'll start by saying that I've never actually used DMT yet. I've taken mushrooms and LSD since age 16 (I'm now 29) though not so much over the past few years. I've always enjoyed my experiences on psychedelics apart from maybe a few scary ones when i was younger. I've also noticed that with the use of substances that have opened my mind somewhat to different ways of thinking and seeing the world ect.. my ability to dream when I sleep (or at least control and remember them) has advanced to the point of what I think might be astral travel.

This all started when I was about 17 or 18 and i'd wake up in my bedroom turn to the light to switch it on and it wouldn't switch on. Very confusing at first until I realized I was still asleep. Years later I saw the movie waking life (which I love) where one guy actually says that turning a light on is a way to check if you're actually dreaming or not as they don't work in dreams.

These days I still get the lucid type dreams, the ones you know you're dreaming in but I also have something else which I'm not sure if it's plain lucid dreaming but starting in a different way or if it's something different more like astral travel. Hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on what it actually is.

Basically I'll be lying in bed about to fall asleep and in the moment that you'd normally fall unconscious my consciousness seems to take a different route, kind of feels like a shift in my head. As this happens I'll get these strange, noisy vibrations somewhere between my ears, I'd describe the noise to be a cross between a washing machine on spin cycle and the noise you hear when you stick your head out of a fast moving car. They also increase in frequency. When this first started happening I thought I was doing some kind of damage to myself as it felt pretty unnatural and i'd stop and wake myself. I found after a while to my astonishment that if I concentrated and went with the vibrations I'd find myself floating up from my bed "cool" I thought!

I've flown around in this state/reality and had some really amazing experiences, sometimes got very scared by what I'd describe as "dark" beings/entities and once jumped into water and my whole body seemed to melt and lose form a bit like a tissue would if you drop it in water, that woke me right up. When I do wake from this state it's always with a very sharp intake of breath and sometimes sitting bolt upright. This thing happens quite a lot now and more so after I've done any kind of drugs and sometimes to the point where I just want to sleep without any of this but I'm unable to because I'll slip into the other state/reality. I'm not sure exactly what it is but one thing that makes me think I'm experiencing some kind of different reality is that when things have become a bit scary or I feel stuck or somehow threatened and I've eventually woken myself up the overwhelming feeling is thank god i'm back, like i've really been somewhere else that wasn't this earth as we know it.

I was just wandering if anyone has had similar experiences with or without the use or any substance? I don't for a second think it's anything like what you guys describe as your dmt trips which sound pretty special but there are some things that I thought were slightly similar. The vibrations for example I've heard people describing similar sensations at the onset of a trip, what are the vibrations? Is that what passing from one dimension to another sounds like?? Would love to hear your thoughts on any of this.

Look forward to trying this amazing molecule for myself soon and hope to share more experiences in the future.

Peace and love :)

Yes after meditating for years and experimenting with more traditional mind exercises I attained the ability to have a dream wherein I am full concious. I have heard of people calling it astral projection. Me being the skeptic I do not like to associate it with actually leaving the body until I have something to prove that. However in this state I am dreaming but I am also fully concious. A strange bridge where you know you are dreaming but it does not break the dream and you hove the power to conciously drive your dream a real integrated virtual reality in 3D and super high def.

I theorize it is a state of mind where the subconcious and the concious is active at the same time. Our traditional sleeping activities prevent this from happening however when we program our subconcious through certain actions like keeping a dream journal and sensory driven dreaming we blur the rules for each side of the mind and begin to establish a bridge.
While meditating we retain our concious while mimicking several things with our bodies that normally occur while asleep. Such as lack of motion, steady deep breathing, slower heart rate, and this causes the mind to 'think' it's asleep and thus parts of the subconcious switch on which is where the visions come from. Essentially you can explore your subconcious while it goes about it's duty because your brain doesn't realize it's awake.

That is amazing. I love lucid dreaming, yet i have not mastered it yet. But i have had times when in a dream i made my self realize it was a dream, and from that point i could control everything that went on, I couldbend things to my will. shape them, re size them. I could fly. I actually think i was flying the whole time, or atleast thats how i felt. I just wish i could make it happen more often. Work in progress i guess.

There are techniques to build on this skill. First I know it sounds corny but keeping a dream journal will make it much much easier to remember your dreams. The trick is you MUST write down what you remember the second you awake. Re read it and other things will come to you. Building a bridge you your subconcious is essential this does just that.

Relaxation meditation is a good tool as well as it will allow your body to begin to show the brain that you are asleep. Trick here is to get as deeply relaxed as possible WITHOUT falling asleep which is hard.

Recorded activation is a process wherein you go into a deep relaxation state while having previously set up a recording to play after a determined period of time. It will play when you are fully into a sedative state. The recording is of a particular subject. It's goal is to drive the dream by infusing outside input to fundamentally color the dream and steer it in a direction.

Sensory deprivation is the ultimate shortcut if you can pull it off. I know places rent sensory deprivation tanks in most cities by the hour so you can try without investing a ton. I built my own tank and it was one of the best things I have done.

In truth it is a intuitive state of mind. Once you have been there a few times it is not hard to get yourself back into that state of mind. The more exposure you have to that place the easier it becomes.
