Hey everyone, just thought I would ask a quick question, and also share something amazing.

I recently experienced a very, very extreme and lucid dream. At first, I thought it happened just because... Then, I had one again the next night, just as wild. Again, I thought nothing unique. Then finally, I had another, and it made me stop and wonder what the hell was going on. Well, turns out, Nicotine patches (used to quit smoking) can and will induce both vivid and lucid dreams. In fact, the box even has a warning stating that it may cause vivid dreams.

So, it looks like if you are trying to achieve a ridiculously strong, vivid and lucid dream on call, then all you need to do is put on a nicotine path an hour before bed and you will literally blast off. Not even exaggerating, just look up reports of other peoples experiences online. For people who don't even smoke cigs, they might have even more extreme dreams since they have no tolerance to nicotine, but that is purely an assumption.

But, this got me wondering, if this causes dreams to be much more intense, is it possible that this may also work to potentate a DMT experience? It would seem that if dreaming is connected to a DMT experience, then it is possible a nicotine patch may influence the trip like it does the dream... That would be pretty awesome. I would try it myself, alas I am out of spice at the moment :(

Anyways, I would like to hear your guys thoughts on this, and your experiences with vivid dreams while on the path. Dreams are way, way, WAY more impacting with that patch on. Unbelievably so... I wonder what it even is that is causing these things to happen.
 
I've heard about nicotine producing very vivid dreams before. Don't quote me on this but I believe it has something to do with nicotine affecting acetylcholine and norepinephrine, two neurotransmitters responsible for alertness. So when you're dreaming, the patch causes nicotine to enter your bloodstream and the nicotine causes your brainto be more alert, leading to more vivid dreams.

I've always been interested in dreaming and lucid dreams, and I've considered purchasing a nicotine patch to see how much nicotine can affect dreams.
 
Interesting, I am a very heavy smoker 50+ some days and I never dream! Or maybe I just don't remember in the morning.. BUT if the nicotine enters the body in the sleep phase then it may induce the lucid dreams :p
Just so happens I have a nicotine patch in the first aid box..
Putting it on now and will let you know how it goes 8)

I'd like to know if you were able to have any experience? I wore a patch last night again and though I did have a somewhat vivid dream I don't remember it too well and I don't think it was lucid either. However, I have been doing this now about a week straight, I might be building up some type of tolerance.

And, Oneiroi you are probably correct, which would also make sense as to why things are so amazing. Maybe the more consciously stimulated you are during sleep the most intense your dreams become.
 
Well I still didn't dream as far as I remember and i'm not going to add another patch as i've felt quite nauseous all day. I totally forgot I was wearing a patch until I saw your last post :lol: The amount of nicotine rushing through my system is too much I think...
 
There are many good books on lucid dreaming. Here is one that focuses on the use of chemicals, including Nicotine, to assist the process of becoming lucid:


For various reasons discussed in the book, the author suggest only wearing the patch when REM sleep is longest, for example 4am - 7am. He also suggests very infrequent use of Nicotine although he does discuss the effectiveness. Incidentally, his supplement cocktail of choice is Galantamine and Choline salts. I've ordered some GalantaMind and will report back.

Wow, I had no idea about this... I will have to give it a shot! Maybe I'll pick some up on my way home tonight and start experimenting.

I have used both Blue Lotus and Calea herbs as lucid dreaming aids, with limited, but potent success. Out of over a dozen attempts, here are basically the experiences I've had:

A dream in which I find myself in a tall glass tower at night - very lonely, the city outside empty and quiet. Someone in the room with me. No lights on. There are curtains in the corner - I go through them to discover a labyrinth of curtains. I navigate this little maze and find a dead end where there is a desk with a computer screen glowing. It occurs to me now that I have some sort of psychic power here - this is some sort of dream country. I immediately decide to pull a prank on the other person in the room with me by summoning some frightening thing.

Smart move. Immediately an INCREDIBLY REAL growl erupts in the room. There is some massive, terrifying SOMETHING and it is screaming its fury in my ears - and I hear it so loudly, and startle so fiercely that it wakes me up.

In another, I merely wake up in my bed. It's no dream. There's no doubt in my mind that I am awake in my room. But something is wrong - I pull my hand up - I have no hand. I HAVE NO FUCKING HAND. WHAT THE FUCK. I've just woken up, my senses must be murky. I focus intensely - by focusing hard, I can see my sleeve - but still NO HAND. I'm the invisible man.
Then something very strange happens. I experience two things at once. I'm stumbling drunkenly, awkwardly, slowly, groggily, to the kitchen to pour myself a glass of water. I tell you, everything in my kitchen is there. The cup I use by the sink, it's there, I bump it against the faucet like I always do trying to fit the rim under. In the other experience, I am still on the bed trying to see my hand.

In this muddle of experience, somehow, at some point, I wake up for real. That's the first time I knew that this blue lotus had something intense behind-the-scenes going on.

In the third - just a few nights ago - I'm falling asleep and hear a vivid voice in my ear. What is says I don't know - perhaps gibberish or a language I don't know. But it was a voice, crystal clear in one ear. It shot me awake better than any alarm clock ever has.
 
Holy shit I just found out about nicotine patches helping you remember dreams. I wonder...if you were to smoke DMT with a patch would you be able to remember more of it? I also heard it can make dreams seem way longer and that part scares me, I can't imagine being in the DMT realm longer. It scares me enough just being there for ten minutes.
 
I find I have very very vivid dreams when I use my nicotine patch and have an hour nap during the afternoon. Never wear them during my night sleep due to the fact that:
#1 There is no point because I'm sleeping
2# Because I already expect I'd wake up multiple times from dreams that are too vivid.

no more nicotine patches needed after that

by the way: would you risk getting involved with a substance that kills every second user? for some fancy dreams?

When I was in the hospital I was listed as a smoker (last records I was) and they put a nicotine patch on me. I had a very lucid dream before startling awake. It was dizzy though, more alarming than inviting but that’s probably just due to circumstance.

The doctor said the intake during sleep is what triggers it so it seems you need to introduce it while sleeping and not just have it in you while asleep.

It was interesting and only happened once so take this for what it is but I believe there are much better ways to influence a lucid dream and nicotine being what it is I would never suggest someone start taking it simply for some lucid dreams that could be better triggered by other means.
 
perhaps relevant, perhaps not...but here's a tale....

i was in the Netherlands on holiday and decided i wanted to make some DMT e-juice in my hotel room. all i had was juice with Nicotine. the trips from that juice, every time without fail, were pretty nightmare-like. i mean, never have i had the frightening, grotesque imagery that was shown during these journeys. vaping the same spice with a GVG was normal (or as normal as DMT can be :lol: )

during the last trip with the e-juice with nicotine i remember whatever spirits/entities/presence informing me, without any doubt, "do not mix these molecules...it is forbidden". well - i quickly poured that remaining juice down the drain and have never ever used juice with nicotine again.

and that has never happened since.

so that's my story. take from it what you will.
