Agreed.  Too many sheep AND too many wolves.  We got busy bodies everywhere hurrying about their day performing meaningless task after task in order to perpetuate the system.  Its a well oiled machine that produces nothing.  In today's world real thinkers and explorers of consciousness are outcast in favor of the more "useful" worker drone.  Most people I know think on the scale of ants in comparison to the scale of our universe.  Its all about getting employee of the month, or meeting their quota or even the country raising its GDP.  Its never about understanding life or the importance of actually feeling alive.  And as you pointed out rarely do we as a species consider our impact on the world we live in.  As long as the wolves tell us its all ok then we go about our business, speaking generally of course.
