Mushroom Explorer
Hi there

I havn't played mushrooms for a long time, so I thought I would do some cakes with some Mazatec and some golden halo, golden halo are much slower than that Mazatec, which have already fruited,

I took a load of pics when they where growing, so I thought I would share some nice pin porn with my friends on the forum.

These are 100% rye cakes, so no brf, no verm, just pure 100% rye cakes.

Average yield first flush 8g per cake.

here are all the pics from first pins to harvest ....

They are lovely by the way :)

I hope you guys and gals enjoy looking at them as much as I did whilst they where growing ...

Peace

Hey there

Thanks brother, rye cakes really do yield, it seemed such a shame to not share the pics :)

peace :)

You got all those healthy fungi with something even simpler than the basic PF Tek... shows how easy things can be when you know what you're doing!

Enjoy those fungi, get them into ya!

That's great! Using all grain does give much better yields - and bigger fruits - than the PF cakes where the nutrients are diluted with inert mineral.

Hi there, thank you for the positive comments <3

100% rye cakes do indeed outperform standard pf tek cakes, by a large amount, I seem to get more meaty shrooms too, but that could be just the strain...

Wish I could share them with you :)

Yum!
Nice cake. I lost all my grain jars for bulk tub to contaminatio, so I’m gonna work with cakes again for a while. But you’ve inspired me to use my rye for my next cakes. 🍄🍄🍄

Hi there :)

Sorry to hear about your loss, its so disheartening to loose all your hard work, happened to me on many occasions :(

The cool thing about rye cakes is that they are very versatile, you can crumble them for bulk subs and are they same as using rye in jars, you can always just fruit them and get great yields. They flush for 5-7 times and seem to be more much contaminant resistant than standard pf cakes...

I once got a 70g wet shroom from a late flush on a rye cake, 70g! There is such a large amount of nutrients in each cake, they seem to want to go on for ever!

When they contam, it always seems to be bacterial rather than trich ....

WBS (Wild bird seed) cakes will serve you well too! WBS is just as good to use as rye, if not better!

I currently have a half rye half hey APE cake in my incubation chamber, I hope it turns out as good :)

If you need any tips or advice on how I do things feel free to msg me here :)

Wishing you the best in all of your future endeavours

Much love <3

Beautiful!

amazing ... they are one of the orignal strains :)

dropping temps when fruiting apparently reduces yield but increases potency significantly, something i want to try to make em even stronger :)

I cannot wait to do a big dose of em :) only did 2g does so far ...

Second flush on rest of cakes :)

hi there

Wellllll... I neglected my cakes a bit (I was to busy sampling the lovely mushrooms they produced) and after 3 -4 flushes they all when green...

So not to be beaten I made up 3 straw trays out of one small jar of Mazatec mycelium i had left

two have fruited, thought I would post some pics of them here for others to see

Much love! Peace :)
