MDMC

So I've been offered some of this by one of the 2 or 3 people in the world I really trust, and am thinking about trying some at a concert I'm going to next week. But I don't know much about it, so I've been doing some research... from what I can gather, this seems to be the same stuff that's also called Methylone/BK-MDMA/"Ease"? I've only ever heard my friend refer to it as MDMC. He says it is similar to MDMA, but won't give me the seratonin depletion after-effects. I read an excerpt from PIKHAL where Shulgin called it "strange and completely unsatisfactory", but many others reports are very different. All the posts I've read about it have me confused, I'm not really even sure if it's the same thing as Methylone. :?

So I guess I'm just curious if anyone here has had experience with this, what they thought of it, whether reports about methylone even apply to the stuff I'm talking about, or anything else helpful or informative really. :d

MDMC is its own chemical, what makes you think it's a term for methylone?
I've never heard of them being used interchangeably.

If this is out of bounds to talk about I apologize, totally unintentional faux-pas! I just wanted to get an opinion I could trust. I found other threads here about related subjects and assumed it was ok, but now I see that the idea is for the site to move away from talking about synthesized stuff. I tried to read the info about it above my post editor, but tor says it's taking me to an untrusted link?

Browsing erowid and shroomery posts gave me the impression it was all the same thing, I found quite a bit of apparent crossover and confusion on the names, and descriptions all seem very similar. Basically sounds like 'X-Lite'. The version of the TIKHAL page I found doesn't include the part you quoted above, and I STILL don't see it anywhere, so thanks for the info!

Keep I'm mind, I'm an old man who left the psychedelic scene for 20 years, and don't know anything about all these new fangled chemicals and their various names. :roll: Just trying to piece together a clear idea of what to expect, if it even seems worth trying. I'm going to talk to my friend more about it later today, and see if he can give me more details. I do have an idea of what it looks like, at least... I didn't get a close look at it but it appeared to be pea gravel size chunks of light blue/green crystals.

MDMC is (M)ethylene(D)ioxy(M)ethyl(C)athinone which should be Methylone but apparently the nomenclature is all off so Shulgin named EDMA also as MDMC, which just makes confusion. I'm going to assume we are talking about Methylone since that is MUCH more common than EDMA (what Shulgin called MDMC).

Dosage:
My personal perfect dosage is between 50-100mg, anything over that and I start to feel chest pains and high heart rate. However, I have friends who need to take 200mg+ to feel it well. Start low and if you're not feeling it much after an hour, you can increase dosage but try not to take it too much in one night, it can give you an unenjoyable comedown just like MDMA from doing too much.

Duration:
Takes 1 hr to peak and then from the peak it slowly declines over 3 hours. It's a very short lasting compound, 4 hour experience. You can redose a couple times throughout the night but try to limit it to two redoses for the sake of reducing a crashing comedown.

Experience
Personally it's a very useful compound to take a stroll on and simply absorb the beauty of the day and have enjoyable chats with friends but not very energizing like MDMA. It's very difficult to thing negatively on this, it induces a lot of appreciation. Some people take more and more hoping to get to the MDMA-like feeling but it's not MDMA so it won't take you to that "magic", it has it's own chill magic. It earned a place in the top of my favourite psychoactives and it was the first in the list that's not psychedelic, however everyone varies (I don't like rolling much).

Hope this helps in your decision! If the concert is a very rage-y, energized one, I'd suggest saving M1 (nickname for methylone) for after the event.

I read that it's not a good idea to combine MDMA with MAOI, and since this is so close I'd assume that's a good rule to follow. But what about using it with DMT alone, or with shrooms? Does the "positive thinking" aspect come through? Not thinking of trying that this time, but if the stuff agrees with me, maybe down the road a bit... also curious about DOC for seeming to have a similar very positive vibe.

DMT and Mushrooms are pharmacologically fine to mix with (responsible) doses of Methylone.

Personal bioassays conclude that DOC does not have a positive vibe, it is very pronounced in it's amphetamine-related increased irritability aspect.

Thanks again for the helpful info! :thumb_up: The stuff my friend had did turn out to be Methylone/BK-MDMC, he had never heard of the other kind. But he ended up gifting me some MDMA instead of the MDMC anyway. He thought I'd like it better, and he was probably right. It was my first time with it, I thought it was totally perfect for the show I went to which had a fun and bouncy vibe combined with trippy 3D visuals on a movie screen behind the stage. The general "feeling" of it for me was very similar to a low dose of mushrooms ("trippy" yet non-visual), but especially clear headed and euphoric. I had probably about 160-180 mgs orally in a crystalline form. Seemed like a good dose for me, very mellow wasn't too intense at all (I'm pretty huge and generally "hard headed", my friend who is much smaller had under 100mgs and probably felt it more.) The duration was just long enough for the show, started wearing off just as we were leaving. What a great time!

That's strange to hear such an opinion about DOC, totally opposite of what I've heard about it (sounded like the ultimate euphoric). But I really don't know much about it, I'll have to look into it more. Not that I have any way to get ahold of any, nor do I expect to. I'm just curious. If it's speedy or amphetamine-like at all, I probably wouldn't like it anyway. Totally hate the feeling of coke and meth, or even ephedrine.
