My cat has used Noman's tek twice (once poorly, once with decent results). Now he is thinking of a different method; one which minimizes risk, possibly increases yield, and results in DMT that can be insufflated. He read many (many!!) pages on this and some other sites. He's not sure what to do, but he did some reading and came up with this...
First, MHRB would be extracted in a solution of vinegar and water, as in Marsofold's tek. This would then be basified with NaOH, extracted with xylene several times. To each xylene pull, FASA would be added drop by drop until no more material precipitates out. The solid material would be collected and dried, and would presumably be reasonably pure DMT fumarate.
He has some questions, though. Given white vinegar that says "5% acidity" on the bottle, what is the ideal ratio of vinegar to water? Is it same as in Marsofold's writeup? What is the ideal pH? Would it increase yield to leave the acid/bark mixture sitting for a longer period of time?
Second, he is curious as to what the ideal basified pH would be for extracting with xylene, and if there is a way to achieve a good pH simply by adding a known amount of NaOH, or if pH papers are necessary.
Finally, we're curious to hear from anyone who has tried this method of precipitation using FASA, as there doesn't seem to be much information available on this rather attractive method.
