I don't think it's funny. I think it's good.

It shows that people can do great things and smoke ganja!!!

I mean shit... if Phelps can swim like that and he smokes! Why not ME!

You're right.
It's really not a secret though- that is, that stoners can accomplish great things. There is plenty of brilliant pot enthusiasts. All that "only dopes smoke" as you put it is pure propaganda! FUCK THE MAN! GO PHELPS!
 
If you listen to rob van dam marijuana should be considered a performance enhancing drug. So phelps might as well have taken steroids and his metals should be revoked. Food for thought.

Yeah, I am afraid that this picture will ruin his career and possibly his life.

It is truly very sad. And MJ being a performance enhancing drug....HA! Perfect example of why people who are not educated in the science of mind altering drugs should not be making laws (or by-laws) about them.

Leave the guy alone. He's done more in his life then most people could ever dream of... So he likes to enjoy a bong. So what?

Rod Van Dam is a huge MJ advocate. He got a high times interview and if you extrapolated what he said you could say that marijuana is a performance enhancing drug.
 
Phelps has been suspended for 3 months... I wonder if his apology and cowardly statement was part of the deal to save his career. If you were in his position, would you lie or stand up for the herb?

Hey, he did what he had to do for a person in his position. It's easy to say what he did was cowardly. Maybe he is not a big marijuana smoke, although he did obviously know his way around a bong, but just a social smoker and maybe he won't do it again because marijuana doesn't matter to him and he has more important things to worry about. Marijuana advocate are lucky this happened at all, never mind the apology, because it shows great people can do great things and smoke marijuana. Yeah they'd like it more if Phelps ruined his career and traveled the country as a marijuana advocate. Personally if I were in Phelp's position I would have done the same thing he did.

Yes I should clarify that I'm a frank and honest person, and while I do believe it to be a cowardly act to speak contrary to your beliefs, that doesn't mean I wouldn't do exactly the same if I needed to. I don't know what I would've done if I was him, because I'm not.
I agree it's a good thing he got busted because it shows that drugs and great things are not mutually exclusive (although weed did not work for SWIM in that department, one of the reasons he gave it up!). Hopefully it's a sign of the times that he got off with a suspension...

Yeah, I just feel that maybe he doesn't BELIEVE anything about weed. Some people are very PRO-mj and some people are against it. Maybe he is neither, maybe he just likes to get high at parties. Has anyone stopped and considered he doesn't give a fuck about marijuana and wouldn't care if he never smoked it again. It's possible.

It is possible... but doubtful... I bet he's smoked since that incident!

I think he needs to stand up for what he believes!
 
UH OH! more trouble around the Phelps smoking incident

We've now learned that since investigators began trying to build a case, they've made eight arrests: seven for drug possession and one for distribution. These are arrests that resulted as the sheriff's department served search warrants.

We've also learned that the department has located and confiscated that bong.

Sources say the owner of the bong was trying to sell it on eBay for as much as $100,000.

The owner, who wasn't even at the party, is one of the eight now charged.

Phelps is not one of those charged at this point, but the sheriff's department has strong evidence that matches the photo to the house on Blossom Street.
