Mimosa latidens also called Mimosa quadrivalvis and Schrankia nuttallii

Migrated topic.

8 months ago I moved to Arkansas and I discovered this growing by my house so I dug it up and put it in a pot. This year it has come back pretty strong. With a lot of searching I found its name it is called mimosa latidens. It is sensitive like pudica and flowers very similar but grows different. The stem is greenish and instead of thorns it has little thistles that stick in you as a parting gift. Does any one have any experience with this one. I will be experimenting with this in the near future.

Last weekend I blended up a bunch of the tops. Stems leaves and flower buds. They have been in the freezer. This weekend I will an boil them and so on. If I have time I will grind up the roots. Wish me luck

After looking up other plants I found some other names for this plant. Mimosa quadrivalvis and Schrankia nuttallii. I also see some other information on our forums from others with some interesting results 👾
