mimosa verrucosa is too rare in the caatinga, it would be a crime to nature exploring this plant. Mimosa hostilis is an invase pioneer, veryyy common in all northeast brazil, fine to explore without problems, the trees don't die when cut back the horizintal roots.

im not about to wildcraft it - i have some seeds and was wondering if i should focus more on them or on my hostillis seeds.

BTW has anyone a good growing guide for Mimosa Hostillis handy ?
I have a couple of seeds and eventually wanna give it a try.

SWIM is trying to grow some right now. A friend grew from the same seeds as SWIM is growing and he said they take ages to start growing. It took like a month for my friend to notice anything popping out of the earth. Many seeds did not grow, some did. He just put it on little pots with earth and sprayed some water once in a while. You dont want to flood the whole thing, remember mimosa comes from dry areas, but also dont leave it too dry as for the seeds to start growing they do need a bit of water..

SWIM has another friend that might know more, also about the later parts of the process when it got a bit bigger, but he hasnt come online for a while.. Any info I find I will try to post back

Thanks for your posting , it seems like it shouldnt be too difficult to get some seedlings.. as i have not too less seeds i think.
I read it requires more likely climatic Factors like intense Lighting and a warm temperature , than a high quality soil. I was thinking maybe a little extra lighting (artificial) could stimulate the growth of a healthy root system.

I'm sure im going to "infect" them with a symbiontic mushroom , might benefit quite well.
same with Cebil . I will post pictures , should i get somewhere with this ;)
