Music during trip

I had a question regarding using music while going in. I sent 3 people this last weekend on a small dose journey, their first time. One of my friends, who this session had been for mostly, brought out some sage, we burnt it, and he put some kitaro on Pandora very lightly.

When he did this I thought, ok this could be interesting. As I was heading this whole thing, almost shaman like, I was concerned that it may be too distracting for a first time. But the with the sage and the setting it seemed very peaceful and almost, necessary. So we went ahead with it and it turned out amazing for all 3 of them. Life changing.

Now one thing, pandora is definitely a NOGO. As, unless you pay, you get commercials. Luckily we caught it, even though they weren't taking breakthrough doses i didnt want any negative situations to arise. It didn't effect anyone in a negative way so with that I was relieved.

So, with a breakthrough dose, how does meditative music effect you? I'm sure with a large breakthrough dose it won't at all. But say lower breakthroughs where you are just barely past the threshold, does it keep you grounded? Does it help send you off? Does it bring you back at all? Thanks in advance.

Its all preference really, and depends on how deep your friends want to go. Personally i like the soothing sounds of the Dead and other calm 60's bands. Though i can see the positives of some deep meditative/spiritual music. but remeber to monitor how intense it is for your pals. Its funny now on pandora theres a commercial about mcdonalds and how you can smell/taste their "amazing" fries through the speakers :)

My main question would be, could music have any negative impacts on higher doses? I haven't used music yet and was wanting to try it on a breakthrough dose before I gave any breakthrough doses to anyone else if they were wanting to use music during it.

It's important to me to know about how things effect you before dosing anyone and have music play and then find out it messed with their journey and created negative feelings. I have read how some people prefer it. Just want to make sure its all good.

Very nice!
Ive only taken the trip twice so far.
First time: Juno Reactor (Bible of Dreams) Didn't notice it to much.
Second time: Terrance McKenna talking about entity communication. This was strange, a good strange though=)

I love my music, from the dead and phish to Mt.Eden and Bjork.
I have no idea what role music will play in my upcoming adventures, but I look forward to finding out=)
I will not be surprised though if silence a good way to go.

Much Respect.

I listen to music almost every time I breakthrough, often it remains unaltered, but sometimes I can hear to it changed tunes and even altered lyrics.
It can easily alter your feelings positively or negatively, so choose music you really like.
I prefer relaxed chillout music, and classical guitar music is very nice.
However, for some reason if I breakthrough in quiet room, I can easily get more anxiety than with music, so I guess it depends on the person. See what suits you best and good luck

I thought about putting this on when I go next time

Its titled "Music for a DMT (Dimethyltryptamine) Trip + Tips on How to Launch"

it sounds like a cool panflute meditative relaxing sound.

I really can recomend listening to "Ishq" (try the latest "and awake" or the classic "Orchid")
imo its true that music does not matter while on a out there breakthrough, but it can provide a wonderfull launch off (maybee adjusting the direction?) and landing platform , especially when you made yourself familiar with it before (meditation, chilling :)).

dude i litterly just baselined from smoalking wile listing to the set david guetta played at ultra last night and i thought it would be a distraction but i was so wrong i jumped into hyperspace to a dozen entities dancing around this like changing color light beam that was the music like they were so happy i brought this uplifting music to them they were all jumping and dancing to the music it was amazing 10 min that felt like 100 years of dancing with happy light entites till i opened my eyes. i will deff be trying this again hahah

Trust me you will need more than 6 minutes of music.

I prefer relaxing music compilations(usually about one hour in lenght), you can find many on youtube, for example this one and it's just one of many and not the best one:

Mindatlarge: Isn't it awesome how the entities dance, and they do it quite often when good music is there, it's quite uplifting and hilarious to watch their dance.

Ya thats why I have a few of them so that it goes onto the next one when one finishes. Thinking about it though it would probably be better if that one i posted in particular was longer. The idea of the SAME song playing through the whole experience seems more appealing to me. Looks like youtube blocked the playback of the video on this site. i like it, very calm and relaxing. Seems a little more fast paced then I want to try yet. i still havent used any sound while leaving and I want to ease into it at first.

So I listened to both and awake and orchid. Those are both definitely going onto my computer to try out. This is awesome. Thanks everyone for the replies. Your all making the experience here important for me.

Imagine how happy the entities would be if you brought them some decent dance music 😉

Yeah if you want to use youtube you can put them into a playlist. Altough I don't like the pauses during listening(from loading and changing songs), that's why I prefer "compilations"/mixes, there's plenty in youtube. You can find any kind of relaxing music there.

I like this guy's mixes for example:

In my experiences as long as you can hear the music in hyperspace, it really matters and has a very noticeable effect to the nature of your trip.

hahahah i was going to use the armin van buuren set but idk i just had on guetta's set and its all really good mixes he didnt just play his commercial stuff lol

dose was about 30 mgs

eventually someone will tell me to go eat some granola & shut up about it, but until that point i'm going to keep on trucking & recommend that, at least once, you check out Dark Star by the Grateful Dead on a hyperspace voyage... you will find it to be a very deep place, with many many angles to explore... don't allow any previous prejudices against the Dead to prevent you this glorious experience... those guys, they understood the journey you are going to take better than most, and dedicated their lives to creating comfortable musical spaces to take those journeys in...

lacking that, some Coltrane is always nice...

Thats right.I completely agree with your statement.
With "out there breakthrough" i was referring to a very intense breakthrough, when one loses ever connection to the physical body/world (inc. hearing)
on most journeys Music has a very strong impact, "even" while peaking
:)

Personnaly i've been using tje same song for a lot of trip , "shpongle-Divine Moment of Truth"
And now that i know the song by heart , it's kind of guide me trough the journey.
Everytime i listen it the a different angle , and the redondance make it like a ''fil d'ariane" , like a connecting thread in a labyrinth
