Music effect your trip in extreme ways?

Migrated topic.

So, as well as MAOIs and Different herbs having a massive effect on ones trip experience. I am pretty sure music has just as much influence over the experience as well! Now I am yet to have taken DMT, but I am SO close. Before hand, last Saturday night I tried my 1st hallucinogenic, LSD. I thought it would be a good idea to try BEFORE trying my hand at DMT when I obtained it.

On to the main point of this topic! Anyway, it was the most surreal, bizarre, and even a little confusing experience I ever had the pleasure of having! One of the things I took note of, is how the music effected the trip so much! I remember recording my experience (will include it in a sec), and having these vibrations! I thought I was cold, then noticed I was not even moving/shaking! Then the song changed, and it made me vibrate a C4PE LOAD! Even my mate Dan sead he was vibrating from this song.

Now, I cannot remember this song that induced large amounts of bodily vibrations. But I do remember the song that effected the atmosphere, and also effecting time itself! Now, it's hard to remember if it played two times, many songs sounded the same... And like... Sounded like the same song played for many hours during the peak (Dan and me would often crack up how the same song, was playing FOR AGES!). But there was a moment, when Dan lifted the blinds. The sun was lighting up outside the window... The song came on, and the atmosphere changed! The morning light outside the window started changing wonderful shades of colors. Time seemed to either slow right down, or STOP! A powerful feeling of love came over me. I remember that I could only here a certain tune of the song, a ghostly but angelic tune. The techno tunes were much softer, and this tune! It was slowed down, made to sound so Euphoric and angelic. Yet also ghost-like if that makes sense. It was this tune that changed the atmosphere to an extreme.

You can listen to the tune here - Kazmo - Euphoric [Full 80kbps]

At about 6:45 you will start to here this tune. It sounds pretty ghostly. The tune, dose not really sound very techno-like. This softer, ghostly tune gos until about 8:25. Now imagine this tune being slowed down, way down. The techno style tunes can hardly be noticed. And this Euphoric tune is louder, and can listen to it VERY easily. After listening to this tune, I cannot wait to play this tune when I 1st have some DMT.

I was wondering if anyone els had a song, music, or a tune completely change your trip for the better? I will add the trip report as well. You might see where the two songs might of had its greatest effect :). You might also notice how me and Dan thinking the same songs playing, how it got us both into a mental loop with each other.

I know its not a DMT trip, but I felt this aspect of how music effects how a trip plays out, was worth asking others about. Maybe a topic is already in play, and I missed it. I did do a simple search, perhaps the topic has a different name :? .

I was able to make a log. Best I could. Blank recording showing how hard it was to think at times. I would not call this a bad trip at all. Dan on the other hand, thought he killed two people, and thought I was a COPPER! And the questions, mental loop Dan and me put our self into... My mental state was stripped down... I did not see many colors... Seems like an interesting mental break down. Although when the morning light came through the window, I felt the feeling of love! Sound was angelic, and I almost wanted to cry.

7:51am: It's all looking clear now. all is well.

I've definitely found music effects the trip. It's taken a while to finally find the genre/type of music that I enjoy best while on DMT but once you get there there's no looking back. When I first started I would pretty much listen to a bit of whatever and it was all good at the time but now I can really relax cause I'm so comfortable with the music. Some will say you shouldn't listen to music and all the rest but I find it's an important aspect of the experience.

On a similar note I remember the first time I took acid - magical, beautiful and amazing - so bright, so bright! awww..

Impressive little/big trip evaluation you have there, very nice!

In fact I liked it so much I decided to have a go myself but with DMT:

8:04pm: I lick my finger and stick it in the air to judge the wind.
8:05pm: Alas, I'm inside - 0 wind. Perfect.
8:06pm: I check the time. It's 8:06pm.
8:07pm: I load my cone with a mountain of DMT.
8:08pm: I prepare myself for the unknown.
8:09pm: I light the cone with one hand and type with the other.
8:10pm: I exhale the smokahadfhegkaer/e.......eg.r r.gek.gkddddfadfap444p pdn,
8:30pm: I'm never doing that again!
8:30pm: Sike!
8:31pm: I load my cone with a mountain of DMT.

..and so on

I can't hear when Under the influence of DMT. Lol. Music makes no difference to me. I could listen to death metal or Britney Spears and the only distinction I would be able to make was the level of annoyance I experienced before smoking and after it wore off.

If you want to have an experience on the far side of bizarre (in a good way) try vocalising on DMT. Self generated sound seems to have a POWERFUL driving effect on the visions, deepening and expanding them, and it provides you a way of navigating hyperspace...one isn't just a helpless observor of beautiful choas, one can actually swim through it...works amazingly with the scared fungus also.

I'm not usually too aware of external music...doesn't seem important or very much part of the experience like on LSD, although I agree with Nordic, it could definitely influeunce a trip without you realising it at the time...

One exception though I did have an amazing smoked spice trip listening to this song with headphones...

Can this be done by LISTENING to songs of vocalizing? Some e.g:

If so, these would be good to try. And there is one other that I cannot find on youtube anymore =/.

This song is trippy.

SWIM does have at least one playlist that works well with straight, but it's mostly soft, spacey and ambient. However, most of his trip music works best with harmaloids in the mix. He loves traditional Eastern (especially Pakistani, Indian and Tuvan) and aboriginal (mostly peyote chants and tribal drumming) music. Most of what I post in the music section (such as Pocahaunted and Kria Brekkan) is extremely psychedelic.

By the way, anyone have any links to some good sources for traditional icaros?

These are great, thanks!

Swim has a great cd to get one of his all time favorites, Can be found here

Its the orchestrated music in the movie Queen Of The Damned, Something about these tracks takes SWIM to
a place so far outta this world and into another. Highly recomended for anybody that is tryin to reach
an ancient calling.

And for something completly different and not Spice worthy, but definitly music to the right ears.

Music has been different for me then what you guys are describing. I have experienced entity's actually will communicate through the music, like they use it as a medium to come through. I have listened to shpongle a lot, and during some of the quiet sequences, i will hear all kinds of alien sounding chatter between left and right speakers. Listen to it sober, you don't hear it. I have listened to pretty normal songs as well, with normal singing, and they have actually changed the words, and will "talk" to you through the music. Very bizarre. When i first started dmt, i also could hear nothing but that high pitched tone that seems to drown out all external sound. But i no longer hear the tone.

As weird as this is,
all the folks I've talked to who've experienced trips as vivid as this confirm.

SWIM has definitely experienced this, but he hasn't taken unpotentiated spice in quite some time. Most sounds seem to communicate with SWIM on pure spice, to include the sound of running water, which SWIM first noticed when he suddenly had to use the bathroom immediately after a hit. He was quite certain that some sort of alien force had invaded and were prepared to completely turn SWIM's life upside down while listening to "Good Friday" by Cocorosie.... The spice is very strange, indeed.
